I don't want Mike Riley as our head coach

I don't like the guy as a football coach. He is blah. He is a loser. He talks a good game about getting better after a loss since that is what he has done all of his career and people fall for it all of the time. Good talking points does not mean results, it is empty air.

Riley had his chance to remain employed after this season when August came and went by winning football games, not having another losing season.

Can we fire Riley on Sunday after Ohio State blows us out of the stadium?

Nothing good comes out of letting him go mid-season. It just divides us the HC duties and makes if tougher on the team. Since we don't even have an AD yet there isn't that much movement to be made on a new coach. At this point there is too much behind the scenes to be done. If there is a plan to get a new coach in place then the quickest transition is the best. No reason to fire a guy now and let the recruits bail while we spend two months finding a new coach.

No one wants him...no one wanted him when he was hired. Go back and look at the initial posts...they were amazing

"Who?"

"I had to google him"

"I think the Huskers Twitter Account was hacked"

"This is a joke"

Then after realizing it was true people had to start pretending like it was a good hire. "I did some research and did you know that Riley actually does more with less..."

Go ask Gary Anderson what kind of job Mike Riley did at OSU.

Yet another "Riley needs to go" thread by a "new" poster.

Maybe they can just start posting this video to save us the time of having to read their drivel.

Hey mods can we make this the official theme song of the fire Riley brigade.

I put more stock in HOW we play than in wins and losses. I was willing to cut Riley slack in year one because there were so many negatives he had to deal with. His losses that year were, mostly, very close games. Then we looked good in the Bowl game. Then we started the next year with seven ugly wins over weak opponents, followed by the meltdown. Those losses were ugly (except for Wisconsin), as were our wins. But... I still cut him slack because we were decimated by injuries on offense.

But this year I am not cutting him any slack. We just don't look good. We look slow and weak.
It just doesn't look like a team that is progressing.

Archived system calls your bullshit...

Riley is one of the most respected coaches (especially with QB's) in the nation.

I can see giving MR a pass for his 1st year here. Pathetic as it was.....well, maybe there was to many variables or something....who knows?

But year two went right down the toilet once we got passed the cream-puffs. Heck, even beating the cream-puffs by the skin of our teeth wasn't impressive at all. Then play the big boys and get cremated.

So here we are in year three.....losing to anybody. So this is progress? Are you kidding?

Hey, it simply can't be denied that MR is a losing cause for us. Is the possible recruiting damage of canning MR more terrible than keeping him around losing to everyone? I don't know. But I do know the results on the field are...... sickening. How much longer do we have to watch this dumpster fire?

Lastly, at some point excuses just don't help.

Roll the dice. No more lukewarm football.

Listen. Frost isn't going to be at UFC next year. Would you guys rather try to hire him away from UCF or Tennessee/any big program that will throw him 6 million?

Yeah, I have to agree here. This is not an original point. Why start yet another thread about the same thing.

And, no, there is no benefit in firing the guy midseason with no AD.

Oh shit...this is embarrassing for you! I was being sarcastic as I am with 99% of my posts.

Really wouldn't worry about it. Pretty sure the guy gave his 100% approval for Pelini after 2011 or 2012 with his self-aggrandising state of the program address. Gumshoe Dubs is the only one allowed to change opinions based on how sh!tty the situation is though. What a dandy!

Wait, you joined in 2016, how do you know what was posted in 2011 or 2012? Uh oh, someone got B-U-S-T-E-D.

I was against Bo following the "revenge" (lulz) Texas game when your boy was more worried about a message board than beating Texas. Enough happened behind the scenes that led me to believe things would change by the South Carolina bowl game. You're missing one key part, if recruiting didn't drastically change within the next calendar year - he was done. Weird how you conveniently left that part out.

So ya, it was a positive SOTU post and I have the entire thread screen capped. I doubt you want to try and match records on here regarding valuable posts/information.

That’s great...but, what does that have to do with Riley going 5-8(if we lose Sat) since Wiscy of last year?

It’s the new math. You have to get worse in order to show improvement.

Like that king of queens where Doug is pigging out instead of going to his overeaters group. When Carrie calls him out for gaining weight he tells her the overeaters group motto is

“You have to gain weight before you lose it”.

Thanks for sharing. If you have a few million dollars to spare you could actually have some input into doing something about it.
