Yay we won. Big deal. This is what Nebrasketball celebrates. Winning a third-rate tournament to be the top 70 in the country. Awesome. Yes, if you play you want to win but let's not get carried away.
There are 37 at large bids to the NCAA tournament (31 Conference Tournament Champ/Automatic Qualifiers). Saying top 70 is disingenuous. Nebraska, nor any Power 4 conference is getting into the tourney as a 12-16 seed. This team is top 40-50, fringe NCAA tournament team from a P4 conference perspective, a lock outside of the P4. From a program that hasn't won an NCAA tournament game ever, winning the crown is worthy of celebration.
and this is exactly why we suck. Year over year. Hell, we win anything or have any minor "victory" fans celebrate like it's the National Championship. Why get better our fans settle for anything.
Let’s not forget all the P4 schools that didn’t make the dance and turned down the crown. The Indiana and Ohio States of the world . didn’t make the conference tourney but some how NU is now the 40th best team in the nation. Ok.

Nobody is celebrating like we won a NC . They are happy because the team turned a very disappointing end to the regular season into a positive. It’s people like you that just bitch to bitch about anything.
We beat Indiana and beat Ohio State... twice if you take out the home cooking refs in the second game. Might want to repick your teams cause your argument is not very strong
We beat Indiana and split with Ohio State. I didn't say 40th best, I gave a range (40-50). Nothing we did in the crown changed that by the way. Not sure if we would have won the Crown if all Big 10 teams that didn't make the tournament accepted an invite, but that still wouldn't change our overall rank.

Yeah Nebraska was a good team until they weren’t. That’s what the problem was. We beat a lot of good teams but when it got to the end of the season we lost to bad schools

Trust me, you don't need to tell me about how disappointing the season ended. I can tell you the moments that Nebraska lost their NCAA bid
1st = Losing that first Iowa game, being up 15 with Payton Sandfort single handedly beating us. That was the 1st and most significant loss of the season as it sparked the first 6 game skid.
2nd = Losing to Rutgers at home. They had just came off that loss at Iowa and instead of looking forward they let that Iowa loss linger
3rd = USC at home. They needed this one as it was the 4th game after that Iowa loss, and we needed to stop the burning. They didn't and then this loss officially knocked us out of the bubble watch lists
4th = @Penn State. The way Penn State beat Nebraska changed the positive narrative Nebraska had.
5th = Michigan at home. Yes I know Michigan was favored, but had anyone but Williams showed up for that game we win and offset the sour Penn State loss
6th = Nail in the Coffin. Minnesota at home. The game that officially ruined our season. You just can't lose this game
@Ohio State and Iowa were irrelvant IMO, because the team new the Minnesota game killed their chances even though beating Ohio State would of gave them a glimmer of hope they tried and failed, which in turn made them not even show up for the Iowa game which I agree is not acceptable.
With all that said, when they had something to fight for in the crown they showed up, and I am going to give them props for that.
Why not enjoy what the team accomplished the past week instead of complaining or bitching about.
Not one Husker fan was happy how the regular season ended, the season was a failure but the post season was a pleasant ending..

But people don't just accept it. We've invested a lot more in our basketball program than many schools who have way more success than we've had.
We beat every team we played in this tournament, something USC and villanova for example can't say. Do you not enjoy winning? That was one of the top accomplishments in Nebraska basketball history. That needs to count for something and add some perspective. It was fun. Sorry you can't enjoy it.
Some people must be a real joy to be around... I didn't think I would care too much but watched every game and found myself enjoying watching Williams and Gary one more time and the young guys having fun. I thought being a fan meant you enjoy the wins wherever they come and not trashing any little accomplishment that may come out of ashes of a season.
So by the way some of you think is the person who wins the tour event opposite the masters this week a chump, loser who should be embarrassed and ranked below everyone who played in the masters? Why shit on these kids who wear the N and had a nice little run over some decent programs while representing Nebraska? Seems like something we should enjoy while also hoping for better moving forward ?
I am dam glad they won and watched and cheered them on. We just have to get better or what's the point? Not being in the field of 64 is ridiculous.

I knew you think the NIT is the better tournament. Tell me how Irvine and Chattanooga would of faired in the the P4. The problem I have with your posts is not that you don't make good arguments. It that you act like they are factual statments. However they are opinionated as they come. Personally I think Nebraska is probably somewhere between the 35th and 55th best team in the country. They didn't show up in the games they needed to... Rutgers, USC, @Penn State, Minnesota and Iowa. If Nebraska played those games each 10 times I believe they win 60% or more of the games.
The thing that I am also pointing out is, what I just said is also opinion based. I am not here claiming that my statement above is fact.

I don’t think so. Masters has so many players qualify just like the dance and there is another tournament held for the players that don’t qualify for the Mastere like the crown for teams that don’t qualify for the dance .
Nobody has said banner except you. It sucks they folded like a cheap tent towards the end of the regular season. But nothing wrong with actual fans wanting them to win games. If they are playing fans should always hope they win.

Thats fair. Im glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was very fun and we played some quality basketball. Boise was a very good win.
However I dont see how beating rutgers and getting a 10 seed before losing in the first round is more successful than this. This to me is a more successful season. I think we did “get better” at the end.
Now of course its better to be a “factor” in the tourney with a chance to win some games but that wasn't realistic for this team, or frankly this program at this point. You think that should be a realistic goal, fair enough, I get why.
I dont. Our resources will be better spent elsewhere, as has been proven time and again.
Kind of stupid to have third-rate tournaments when most teams are missing 2 or 3 guys to the portal already. UCF was missing the Big 12s leading scorer.
Imagine posting repeatedly to try to get people to not be happy about sports.
You have to start somewhere and winning one game is the first step. You are not going to just start going to the sweet 16 every year. If you go to other year end tournaments every year and never the big dance that is what you will get for players. We are there or below that currently.
Other than Jack Nicholson and the Omaha connection, nothing to write home about.
