I’m waiting for Top Kong

All of us Husker realize that. Fact is there was a tournament of losers in the Power4 conference and they won it.

Why not be happy instead complaining. We know where we stand.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m happy the Huskers chose to play and that they won. I just want Fred to leave Las Vegas feeling like he has some good bench pieces to go with Mast next year, but he needs four new starters to be relevant in the Big Ten.

i’m ok with this!!! get some players , Fred!!!!

Loved it. The whole tourney. Didnt think I would.

But seriously heres the options for nebraska:

Make the NCAA tourney and spend one night in Wichita before a quick and unremarkable first round exit

Spend a week in Vegas, win exciting games and get 300k. The fans get more games to watch?

Dude give me the crown title every time.

Beat some good opponents, some great moments. Hate all you want, this Is Nebrasketball.

Keep Fred forever.

CHAMPS

I know it’s a complete consolation prize. But this was a tournament where you got paid the more you won, and for that I’m happy for our kids. They’re going home with some cash they wouldn’t have had. When you make money the incentive, it ramps up the excitement a bit. I’d also argue, if this is even worth arguing, that this tournament was more compelling than the NIT. Better, higher caliber schools were involved. You can argue whether Arizona State is better than Chattanooga, but no one cares about watching Chattanooga.

Yeah they got some of interesting teams to play in the Crown. Huskers' opponents had their flaws, but you didn't have to Google them to figure out who they were.

For Nebraska basketball this is good, we don’t have much of a history, I do know that we beat creighton and won our last game, pretty good ending for a difficult season
That’s about as a Bizarre season as you will ever see . Starting in December it was a 5-6 game Winnings steak big losing streak followed by another winning streak than the 5-6 ( NW a win) streak to end the regular season. Don’t make the conference tournament but win the last 4 in The Crown.

The logic that we’re 70th because we didn’t make the tourney is incorrect. The tourney isn’t the best 69 (or however many) teams. It’s obvious we’d beat (and have beat) many of the teams that made it in. If we were in some of those crappy conferences we’d be in every year too. Were a really good team but were in a tough conference and we’re going to have to keep getting better to get a shot and be able to do something when we get there.

He’s not wrong
So are you and your boy Kong saying the NIT champ is better too? That is the only thing I can come up with for it not being the 69th best team

^^^^This^^^ “We know where we stand”. Indeed we do know. And it is a realization that we are a place where basketball just never seems to flourish. That we are a historically awful basketball school. Not even the best college basketball team in our small population State. So this tournament championship should be celebrated and not cynically ridiculed. It shows us a team that did not give up just because they missed the main tournament. That tells me something about Hoiberg and the relationship he has with his players.
Hopefully, we can do well in the transfer portal and have a good run in the main tournament next year.
