The Iowa trolls probably have a collective erection. No need to explain.I just wanted to post about it for you guys😁
Should have told them family history, that would probably be covered. The ins company usually just goes by medical expert recommendation for when things should be done. I had one at 40 and it was covered but I had family history so guidelines were that I should get one.My doc scheduled me for one last year.
My insurance sucks.
Called them to verify it was covered. They said yep, it's preventive, so it's covered 100% at where it was scheduled with the doc it was scheduled with. Yay.
A few weeks later, I picked up the magic juice from the pharmacy.
Dose 1 down the hatch the night before. Not too big a deal.
Dose 2 down the hatch next morning day of procedure. Wow. Yep. That did the trick.
As I was sitting on the can with nothing else to do, I thought "man, my insurance sucks and they have screwed me over about 100 times before. Maybe I should call them to make sure they're not going to screw me over again."
So I called them. "Today's the day for my colonoscopy. Going there in 3 hours. Making sure there's nothing else I need to do."
Got put on hold. 5 minutes later they ask for my date of birth. Again.
Gave it to her. Short pause.
"You're under the age of 50. We don't cover unless you're 50".
I told her that my doc prescribed it, that I had called a month before (was not 50 a month ago during that phone call either), and that I was well into my second dose of colon blow.
No sympathy given, and had to pull the plug on it. I did not have 5 grand to pay out of pocket.
Did I mention my insurance sucks?

Touche!!!!! I'm still laughing!!!!I just wanted to post about it for you guys😁
This guy and another doc gonna have a Charlie spit roast? Is this your doctor?
Still only amounted to 3".The Iowa trolls probably have a collective erection. No need to explain.
Do you really want this procedure going to the lowest bidder?I'm under 50 so I had to pay my co-pay but since the stool screening came back positive I'd rather pay than die. The cleanse wasn't too bad for me but the anesthesia messed me up. I have a weird foggy memory of being partially awake during the procedure, then I don't remember anything else until I was home like an hour later. I hate that feeling.
My advice is to ask your doctor for recommendations on where to go for the best price. There can be a huge variance in price depending on the provider.
Would you believe there's a national shortage on the prep solution? I'm doing it with gatorades and OTC laxatives. If it's not too late, drink a serving or two of Metamucil before you guzzle the cleanser. That will get you "current" so that the cleanser isn't such a horrible experience. It still sucks, but this eases the pain a bit.

You're probably better off. I had heard many horror stories about the prep solution, but when I prefaced it with some Metamucil it was sort of a non-event.Would you believe there's a national shortage on the prep solution? I'm doing it with gatorades and OTC laxatives.
I'm $hi++ing you not.

Wish you well.I just wanted to post about it for you guys😁
id be leary if they want to give you a 2nd one in 3 weeks.I just wanted to post about it for you guys😁
Not how I looked at it since I was told the Beatrice hospital charges like 3x what it costs at Gastroenterology PC in Lincoln. In other words the place that does WAY more of them is cheaper.Do you really want this procedure going to the lowest bidder?

I thought the same thing. I wanted to walk home - about a mile on a walking trail - but the doc's office wouldn't let me do that. So my wife picked me up and we had lunch nearby, and by the time we were done eating I had pretty much forgotten about it.I've never seen where having a colonoscopy is a big deal.
Husker basketball coach 2000-2006? Might be a different Barry. Is this your doctor?
Love the happy juice IV. I can see why Michael Jackson got hooked on Propofol. I have had to have several scopes over the past several years. Had a precancerous tumor taken out a couple of years ago . I sing turn out the lights to the anesthetist. The OR nurses seem to get a kick out of it. I think that nurse anesthitist has knocked me out 5 or 6 times over the past 4 years. Several scopes. Once for a nasty fractured nose with bone sticking out of my face sustained working cattle. Once for a torn meniscus scope. I guess last month I sang Good Night Ladies to them. It's always good to be kind to people who are going to have control of your body while you're incapacitated.lol
Definitely the worst part was the day BEFORE. For me and probably most others, the day of is over rather quickly (twilight sleep and then the ride home)
That's hard to imagine. I had my choice of different preps a couple of weeks ago. The Rx preps are just concentrated forms of OTC agents for the most part. Good luck. I'm sure they won't poke too many gaping holes in your bowel wall when they take their biopsies. Hope you have plenty of Charmin on hand. Timely tip. IF your ass gets chapped from all of the crapola, CortAid ointment is a wonderful treatment.Would you believe there's a national shortage on the prep solution?
