Huskers vs Clemson tonight

5 points from the bench won't cut it. We have pretty much no scoring threat outside of Watson, Webster and Morrow. Jacobson finally played better tonight, but we are getting nothing from anyone else right now.

The discrepancy in the number of fouls is something to look at.

When watching the game, other than noticing they were getting more foul shots, I didn't think the game was officiated unevenly or that Clemson was getting away with more. Taylor, Gill and Webster had 10 of the 20 fouls and Jordy had his typical foul every 2 minutes of playing time.

i think the difference is that Nebraska does a lot of standing around on offense, other than the top of the key weave, it's tough to shake a defender when you stand around, also allows for easy double teams on drives to the basket. Their offense had more motion, when you are chasing, it's tougher to get into good position to help defend, so fouls get called for reaches.

I haven't taken the time to read entire thread, but in fairness to Miles, he probably would look a lot better with White's 18 points a game...

BTW...Tim looks like he has gained a few lbs....

Man, that Dayton will is really big now because they would be at .500 without it but they really could have won the last two.

Actually, I think we would be 5-2 right now had we lost to Dayton. I still think beating them was best case even though we lost the last two in the tournament.

People don't want to hear it, but we may be talking about this team playing in March had we not lost White. He's exactly what we are missing right now. McVeigh just hasn't/can't provide anything close to what White could.

Agree totally. I only got to watch a little bit of the Orange play Wisky, but I think he was their leading scorer with 14, and 4 of 9 from beyond the arc. He also took the most shots. He'd certainly would have helped at least keep one defender honest. Hopefully JM comes around soon.

I agree with this. White's shooting would have been able to spread the floor some for Webster and Watson to be able to get to the rack. When we have zero 3 point threat on the floor, teams are helping off on those two and are taking the drive game away. Va Tech started doing this and teams will be doing it the rest of the year unless we start finding the range from three.

How VT defended Nebraska is IMO what you are going to see most of the rest of the year.

We really need Gill and Roby to step up and provide some scoring. Also need Jordy to develop into a defensive presence. I think Coach Miles would love to see Roby and Jordy take McVeigh and Jocobsen's starting spots, but the they are both going to have to improve and earn them.

You are correct in your assessment of the NU offense. It's been that way since Miles came here. I just don't see the movement with purpose that you see other good teams employ. As they say...it is what it is...and I don't see it changing.

Also consider that Nebraska was 4-18 from 3pt range and had 7 more offensive boards and missed several point blank shots and only lost by 2. Fouls were what they were but that isn't why they lost the game.
