Huskers vs Clemson tonight

Creighton and Kansas next week....Yikes!

Better hope we take care of business against Coach Smith on Saturday, or it's going to be a long season.

Not enough scorers on this team. Going to be tough in the Big Ten for this team unless someone on the bench steps up. Tough loss tonight.

Choking is a reality when you've got young guys especially on the road. McVeigh is a serious liability on the floor right now.

The team still shows a lot of upside. They will be much different by the end of the year. Tough loss no doubt, but stay positive.

That, my friends, is called choking.

Nebraska panicking at the end...imagine that.

Players looked indecisive at the end. Our offensive sets are just juvenile. Bad coaching at the end. Clemson tried to give the game away and the huskers just didn't take it. Husker basketball has been a lifetime of futility minus 5-6 years.

Would you agree that this offense doesn't exactly open up easy scoring opportunities for the front line as a general rule?

You are correct sir!!!!
A coaching staff making millions per year can't come up with something besides a 3 man weave??????

Nothing is more frustrating than watching this team. It's the same thing every year no matter who is coaching the team. I don't believe in curses, but if I did I'd believe this program is cursed.

Last 3 games, McVeigh has played around 78 minutes and he's scored a total of 6 points. Yes, 6 total points in approximately 78 minutes. Saturday should be his last game starting, if he can't get out of the funk, put Roby in the starting lineup and let Jack come off the bench.

Let the young guy wet his ears, allowing Jack to be a role player till things get better.

Six assist tonight. That says a lot. At the same time, i don't think there is many guys on this roster Miles trusts on that end at this point. The freshman aren't ready, and Gill/McVeigh are liabilities right now. Can't expect Watson/Morrow/Tai to have it every night.

Once again a sterling offensive performance from a Miles coached team. He can't last another year can he?

I agree with everything you said, and it is times like this that I ask, "Why is that?" In regards to who Miles trusts? Is that a THEM problem or is that a HIM problem?

He didn't get the rollover in his contract that always seems customary to all Nebraska coaches no matter how horrible they perform....so we got that going for us.

People don't want to hear it, but we may be talking about this team playing in March had we not lost White. He's exactly what we are missing right now. McVeigh just hasn't/can't provide anything close to what White could.

I'd mostly agree with this, but on the flip side, I think we've seen incredible leadership by Tai that maybe we wouldn't have seen if White was still there. I also think White owning the ball would have slowed down the development of our younger guys that we will continue to see this season. Minutes = experience and experience will eventually = success.

(This part of my response is not directed to huskerbaseball13)
I get tired of the constant whining by people on this board about Miles. Tough loss, indeed. But this team is on the cusp of really elevating our program and to cut Miles loose would be a HUGE error setting the program back when it's about to turn the corner.

But you'd maybe rather be right about the failure that Miles is instead of getting behind the program.

Which is why my second favorite team this year is whoever is playing against Syracuse.

Be careful where you say that, there are some on here who consider him to be the next Kobe Bryant.

I agree with this. White's shooting would have been able to spread the floor some for Webster and Watson to be able to get to the rack. When we have zero 3 point threat on the floor, teams are helping off on those two and are taking the drive game away. Va Tech started doing this and teams will be doing it the rest of the year unless we start finding the range from three.

It is the reincarnation of Moe Iba ball. They go into the patented Nebraska prevent offense. Also missed numerous chippies and chasing loose balls we were always a step slow.

Gill panicked at the end as we had the advantage. 6 seconds with the ball, down one, and a timeout.

This bunch plays tough but teams shut down Webster and Watson look out. Zero offense.

I have a hard time believing this team is going to win more than 14 or 15 games this year. As far as the roster goes, I really like Watson and Morrow, and Webster has become the player we thought he could be. Roby and Tshimanga seem intriguing. Jacobson clearly works his tail off and will continue to improve. But other than those guys, I just don't see much to work with on this roster. McVeigh is make shots at this point. Gill looks like he took a year off of practicing during his transfer year. Evan Taylor can handle the ball and that's about it. Miles' offense continues to be stagnant and bland. With the investment the school made into the program, I think Eichorst's patience is wearing thin. I like Miles but it could be curtains if we don't improve over the course of the year.
