Huskers vs Clemson tonight

Clemson favored by 11

Take the points. Huskers win this game on the road.

11 points seems high to me...not sure if that's because this is our first road test. Blossomgame is probably the best player on the floor tonight but outside of that I'm not sure if Clemson is that much better than us.

Agreed. If we see NU team that showed up against UCLA then I like our chances. If like vs VaTech then u-g-l-y.

Need to get offensive production from McVeigh too.

Getting road wins against teams like this are always tough, but huge resume builders if the team happens to be alive for an NCAA bid late in the season. Clemson will be no easy out, as noted by the 11 point favorite tag. I'd like to see the Huskers pull one out, but they absolutely need to shoot better to win as Clemson is averaging nearly 80 points per game. Seemingly that is coming from more shot attempts as both teams shoot around 43%.

This is a game that can be stolen, so let's see what happens.

Also just saw that all five of their starters in addition to a sixth man (off the bench) are averaging double figures. That in combination with their best player at nearly 19 per game makes them a tough team to defend.

Two of the slower paced teams in college basketball that like to defend. Likely going to be another ugly game tonight.

I don't see how a team averaging 79 points per game is called a slower paced team. Nebraska at 70 probably is, but when you're approaching 80 per game, it's hard to call that slow paced. The sad fact is that ugly and slow is probably Nebraska's best recipe for wins.

Clemson hasn't played in 5 days and don't play again for 5 after this. I would be willing to bet that they have prepared for Nebraska more than UCLA and Va Tech did, considering the quick turnaround in those preseason tournaments, where you don't know who your next opponent will be. Likewise, I am sure Miles will have prepared much better for Clemson and have a more defined game plan. Or at least I hop so. The one thing that is a concern for me is the experience difference. Blossomgame and Holmes are 5th year seniors, Djitte is a senior, Grantham and DeVoe are juniors.

I take the 11. That number is too big. Not sure about the outcome.

My main concern is amount of games + travel over the past week. We looked tired vs Va Tech. Majority of our jumpers were coming up short.

This stretch is a real grinder. Tough teams, coast to coast and lots of games close together. I'll be surprised if we're competitive tonight and I suspect the point spread is reflecting how tough this stretch has to be on the guys.

You are probably right, most metrics has this as a 7-9 point game in favor of Clemson. I'm not sure if South Dakota will be an easy out for us either.

USD? Actually Smith picked up some good players and had them playing pretty well to end last year. Haven't seen what they've done this year, but they have enough talent to win if they get hot from 3. They've got a guard that can drain 3s from anywhere across half court. I expect our talent to eat USD but we are going to have to shoot better than we did the second half against V Tech.

Boys starting off bad with consecutive turnovers.
I laughed when the announcers said both teams do a good job taking care of the ball and then there were about 3 or 4 turnovers in a row. Haha.

Man, it sure sucks that Webster hasn't gotten any better since he got here.

Tell me this is not a different team.

We got guards who can dribble penetrate, but that can be stopped by good defenses, especially if they don't respect the front line's ability to score.

Got to stop all these turnovers.

Not falling for it. Laughing

Morrow reminds me of the 90's player Bruce Chubic (sp?) Does alot of the hard dirty work that a team needs. love that kid

Basketball challenged so pardon if its a bad question. it doesnt seem Nebraska players away from the ball move or set off ball screens. is this just the offense we run? just doesnt seem like alot of movement away from the ball.
