On Friday night, Merritt Beason fueled the No. 1 Huskers to a sensational come-from-behind win in their battle against No. 16 Penn State, driving the bus with a career-high 27 kills on .426 hitting to lead Nebraska from its first 0-2 deficit of the season to a thrilling five-set win.

Less than 48 hours later, Beason was back at it with another star showing: She pored in 21 kills on .475 hitting against Rutgers on Sunday afternoon, leading Nebraska to a sweep of the Scarlet Knights (25-15, 25-20, 25-18) on the road in New Jersey.
