Husker v Hoosier “score” Prediction thread

NU 21 IU 14

This may have no merit at all, but I used the USA Today poll that ranks all 134 FBS tams to compare Indiana and Nebraska's FBS opponents. I did not include Northern Iowa or Western Illinois as they are both FCS schools. Both have records of 2-4. Obviously the lower the score the better. Indiana's score is 479

FIU 119
UCLA 109
Charlotte 93
Maryland 80
Northwestern 78

Nebraska's score is 363, but their highest ranked opponent is Illinois (29) who beat them in OT

UTEP 131
CU 48
Illinois 29
Purdue 112
Rutgers 43

Hoosier fan here.

Was going to go with 38-17 but apparently you can’t kick field goals.

Hoosiers 38
Huskers 14

Been lurking on your board for the last week. Y’all are entertaining. For those of you headed to Bloomington, have a safe trip.

A lot of predictions for 10 or more points in victory… what a bunch of homers.

I will say Huskers by 10.

I could see us getting out coached

Hope I’m wrong
This is my biggest fear.

We have better players than them. I don’t know about the rest.

And I especially don’t know how a bye week impacts this team.

What I do know is I haven’t seen a single post - not one single post - in the last 2 weeks suggesting we’ll have some new wrinkles to unveil, some creative game planning to unfurl, or anything else like that.

Somewhat telling, IMO. We as fans on this website kind of seem to be collectively grabbing the “Oh, shit!” handle and waiting to crash.

I’m looking forward to the game, but like any other, not much would surprise me.

But I do expect to win.

I’m assuming new wrinkles go without saying after a bye week. Listening to Rhule’s press conference I have to believe we will see some tweaks to the run game especially and I would think for all things holy we will see some different formations on punt team.

for the last few weeks I've consistently felt better about this game than I did either Rutgers or Ill, both those games were tough... I just feel like IU is CU 2.0 with a lesser QB and I feel like NU matches up really well... the Defense is still pissed about ILL and I see them stepping up big in this one, IU hasn't faced a D like this when they're pissed... 35 - 17 'Skers make a statement

I hope you’re right. I just see a few differences…the biggest is that Indiana can run the ball and Colorado never even really tried. Much harder to shut down a balanced offense. Second is that Indiana runs RPO really well and statistically we’re not great at stopping RPO this year.

Indiana fans are a whine and cheese. They don't make noise and the stadium is not set up to sustain and reverberate noise. The fans are worse than the blue hairs at Nebraska. Football is something to watch until basketball starts. It's that way in the entire state. There's a reason Notre Dame doesn't stake the claim of being located in Indiana. It's South Bend or Notre Dame - not Indiana.
IU basketball fans are a rabid bunch...just ask Kentucky. With this team...and the decades of pent up frustration showing up....those fans will be stocking the bleachers for this game. It will be louder than you think. Everything is different this year at IU.....everything.

Watched some of the highlights and IU has a really good RPO and QB. Rest of the team is ok. Our D-line looks better and i don't see them being able to run and our DB's are better than their receivers. Blackshirts are going to dominate. Defense has guys running open, Raiola is going to have a game. NU 31 IU 17. Only way I see IU winning is if they get a special teams score.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

32-30 Indiana
If the Huskers do lose, they will never score that many points. I still maintain Indiana has had a soft schedule and the Husker D is too good for them to score 32 points. I am sticking to my score of NU 21 IU 14. If I had more confidence in Satt's play calling ability I would think the offense could score even more.

"Special" teams could cost us this game. Already cost us IL. Is Alvano ok?

Wasker77,

Much appreciate your analytics, but what Nebraska needs is 5 offensive lineman, plus a TE, moving 280lb lineman off at the line of scrimmage.

Here is the mathematical formula: (320 X 5 + 240 'TE") - 280 x 3) + Indiana LBs @ (2) X 250lbs minus momentum, plus cadence count and fullback +250 of force + tailback at 18 miles per hour.......ETC, ETC, ETC

This all equals a Husker Win!!!!! 35-17 for Nebraska
