If anyone remembers the movie The Cooler with William H. Macy, I’m starting to think that character might have been based on the life of Doc Sadler. It seems like teams get worse when Doc is taking naps at the end of their bench, then get better when he moves on. He’s kind of like a reverse mascot.
Do you work for the ACC or something? It's okay to admit the conference was awful this year. The Big Ten will probably have 6-8 teams make the Round of 32.
No, I’m no fan of the ACC. I always find it embarrassing when fans of bad teams get a woody because someone from their conference does something unremarkable - like the goofs who chant SEC! SEC! at the freaking Music City Bowl.
This may in fact be a year when the Big Ten doesn’t crap all over itself on the first weekend of the tournament. But forgive me if wins over High Point and Montana don’t make me go weak in the knees.

Oh I don’t disagree with that all either. To me Kansas and Arkansas was a battle of two dirtbag coaches.
I was happy to see Colorado State take down Memphis. Rams were awful early in the year but just kept improving. I don’t think they’ll beat Maryland but it could be a tight game.
ACC has become Duke and everyone else. Was hoping Xavier would win. I can’t stand Illinois. And Underwood kinda gets under my skin a bit. Kinda sad no real big Cinderella emerged. Maybe McNeese and Drake. But Clemson is another overrated bad ACC team that made the field and Missouri isn’t great. So beating them wasn’t a big deal. Been pretty much all chalk outside of them.
Seth Davis, who's usually an ACC butt-kisser, gave a pretty grim outlook for the conference last night. He said with the exception of Duke, the ACC hasn't adjusted to the portal environment and isn't bringing in enough talent to compete. Quite a few new coaches coming into the conference though, so a lot will depend on whether they can turn things around.
St. John’s really crapped the bed late in the game. Cut the lead to 2 and then just started taking horrible shots.
Big East probably going to make an early exit unless Creighton or UConn can pull a pretty big upset.

Gotta give Michigan credit - they got screwed on their seeding and had to take out two pretty good teams to get through the first weekend. Contrast that with Purdue, who got their customary sweetheart draw.
It's insane so much hero ball at the worst times.
