How long does Chinander get?

Well, the tone of your question comes across as if he already sucks, and thus you question the wisdom of the new HC. Also, how many threads have there been about him in the last week or so?

Do I have concerns about him? Sure. But I know SF has forgotten more about FB than I'll ever know. He coached with Frost at UNI, Oregon, and UCF so I'll defer to Frost's judgment. If he's wrong then all the smart ones can say "I told you so."

Oh, and he also has the endorsement of one of my cousins who played for him at Ellsworth CC, so I'm giving him a chance.

Add me to list that doesn't know diddly-squat about cfb relative to Frost. In fact, I'll trust Frost's judgement. Yes, even more than a poster on this board.

Yes they were, and then the last 3-4 games happened.

You can't blame a defensive coordinator for giving up yards and points to the #9 and #2 defenses in back to back weeks, following 11 straight weeks of football. Their depth issues were major, they were small all over the field, especially upfront with no depth, and they were playing fast offenses. So the plan was play extra aggressive and hope to force turnovers before their d wore out. This is reason they started both games off well on d but faded in the 2nd quarter as the d wore out. There was little rotation. And they score so quickly or turned the ball over that the d was back on the field. If you look at their scoring drives in the first half, they were quick strike, then they turned the ball over three straight times. The d came out after half a little rejuvenated but wore out again in the 4th...We aren't going to ever be a 2009 defense, we are going to look like an oregon defense, a defense that has played in two national titles.

Was over at the UCF board and I have not see one person sorry to seem him go. The only consistent complaints I am seeing from them is him. If our D continues to look like this years and UCFs last two games, how long does Chinander get? I am sure there is going to be some learning curves for Frost and all staff involved this first year. So there will be patience. In my opinion if by end of 2nd year things are not improving I think a change would need to be made.

Depends on blow out losses. The big thing I feel the admin, most folks are looking for is moving toward at the very least being competitive with no more blow out losses.

I think you meant offenses, but I get it. They wide open busted coverages, were troubling to see game after game. The second half of the season was glaring. Luckily, the offense made wins look easy, but in the last few close games, the D backs looked lost.

On behalf of my fellow geezers on this board who remember WKRP in Cincinnati, I feel it is my duty to post this in any thread in which the word "Booger" appears:

He'll get as much time as Scott Frost wants him to get. Coach Frost and his staff coached at a much higher level than what we had back here that I don't think any of us Husker fans should be saying a negative word right now. All things being fairly equal, it's much better to bring in the man you know, the man you trust than to hire from the outside. There's a lot to be said for trust and cohesion among the coaching staff.
