How bad is Raiola injury

You can’t see the receivers down field on tv so you assume they’re not getting any separation.. then haarberg comes in and stands in the pocket like a boss and hits multiple receivers in their hands in clutch time. Something’s up with raiola
On that pick 6 Dylan had Fidone WIDE open 15 yards further down the middle of the field. It would have been a huge gain if not 6 points😕

On another play he had a WR 10 yards behind the defense on the east sideline. He threw a couple of nice balls but he’s holding the ball too long. We had 3 huge plays where he trusted his WRs and launched balls in to tight coverage. Those transfer WRs are good on contested balls.

If he transfers good riddance, kid has talent but lacks some fire in his belly, also doesn’t know when to put some zip on the ball, you shouldn’t need to be coached that at this level
He does run down to Southwest corner of endzone and points at crowd before game after tunnel walk and at halftime really really well though

The run game is a young QBs best friend and some of the times Satterfield’s run design makes no sense. I’m no O line expert but it was obvious that some of the plays asked a guard to do something Superman couldn’t execute.

The refusal to commit to the run game is maddening. Yeah UCLA has a good D line but that same D line is rushing your passer. Run the damned ball more often and you’ll help your QB.
I thought outside of a few calls the actual run plays were fine. Running Lloyd horizontal at the 5 kind of tells me he still doesn't get it. No one is scared of Lloyd at the goal line. They are scared of Lloyd at the 50.

Thought the HH goal line play was good.

Have to run more. Substitute 6 or 8 passes for runs and we likely win that game.

All of those ties can easily be untied. From either side. You're talking about a 3 star, class of 2026 brother who hasn't earned the offer we gave him, a sister who would no doubt not have her job if it weren't for her last name, and an uncle who should have never been hired in the first place, let alone retained.

Yeah, I think the strength of their ties is outweighed by their propensity to move around seeking greener pastures. However, I'm not sure there's a team out there not named Nebraska that would be willing to throw a job for brother, sister and uncle on the pile, just for Dylan's services at this point.
I agree they can easily be untied, I just don't think they will next year.

I would be shocked if he isn't here next year. His entire family is now tied to the program. Brother. Sister. Uncle. Short of something crazy happening and Rhule gets fired, I don't see it.

I don't think hes too slow to move around. I think he is confused and unsure of himself, plus is obviously injured. I think this is what pressure does to a person. It's why making a bowl game was so important to show a tiny bit of progress. But Rhule f'd that up. Every DC we play knows Raiola, our receivers, and coaches have no answer for pressure. Only way to stop it is consistent running. Was the opposite last year. We needed those long PA passes to try and slow it down. This year need to grind them out or slip by that pressure for some chunk runs.
To sum up you could say he’s playing like….. newsflash here! A freshman ! Anyone who expected him to roll in and play like a polished player is fooling themselves. No matter the talent level it’s uncommon that freshman QBs just light it up year one. Your expectations are too high too fast for a first year signal caller .

I notice that seemingly every time a RB gets a decent gain you see them heading to the sideline immediately after. Did it to Emmitt yesterday a couple of times. No one can get into a grove.

I kinda thought that too. But didn't really help because I thought clock started as soon as he got off the field.

I also said on tv he was still in tent
Helps when you have a slow blinker at OC and he needs time to process what the hell he is going to do

They touched briefly on it yesterday that our linemen were tipping their hand (pun intended) on pass plays and run plays. Camera angles didn't show it but if they are barely putting weight on hand on pass plays there's a problem. If they're doing that on run plays that would explain why we're getting no push and d lines are getting underneath us

No. Expecting a QB to take what the defense is giving him when he has open players is not expecting too much even if he is a freshmen.
Expecting him to hit the short cross route when the defense blitzes two up the middle is not expecting too much.
Raiola is the one expecting too much. He holds on to the ball and tries to schoolyard everything like he is pat mahomes. It doesn't work. He doesn't take what the defense gives him. Believe it or not there are open players often. Not always, but often.

Overall, however, most of the blame lies on the coaches shoulders. They have not developed him at all and are not calling plays that demand he get rid of the ball right away===no read, no option pass plays are needed for him.

I hate to be the next man up, however, he’s obviously struggling… HH ran the offense decent and deserves an opportunity should DR be injured… DK could also come in an not burn his red shirt… this team needs a spark somewhere. Satterfield unfortunately isn’t going anywhere so may as well try something

HH seemed to have more time to throw than DR. Maybe UCLA went more to a prevent that time of the game to avoid the big play and keep HH from making a play with his feet.

I’m not convinced DR is the problem. He has no time to throw and with the high school routes the receivers run there is nobody open. As with past years our #1 problem is the offensive line.
