Given my age I had probably been a Nebraska fan for close to 50 years. I used to go to games in the old coliseum and watch Jerry Fort and Bob Siegel, Terry Novak.
I remember switching to BD. I still have the program from the first game. Saw Kevin McHale play for Minnesota among other stars. Nee years were good. A lot of people didn't care for Moe Iba but I liked his hard-nosed style of play even if we weren't all that good. He coached his players and worked the refs during the game unlike the mannequins we seemed to go through lately.
At some point several years ago I just lost interest and gave up. This program has been something else. Even the worst, least supported programs rise up once in a whole. Not this one, they've been consistently mediocre to bad for untold decades.
So I find it entertaining to read through game and post game comments. It's always the rotten refs. In fact, it's the same comments. You could literally transpose the same posts for each loss and no one would notice.
I know it seems it because it's universal for fans of teams of almost any sport to see indignities being pressed upon their favorite squads.
Truth is, Nebraska basketball just can't get over that same hump they've been fighting for what seems an eternity.
I am not making fun of your Charlie Brown- Lucy routine, it's actually somewhat admirable. I just can't stomach being a part of it.
