Ohio St is 2-3 since their loss to Nebraska last month and are 8-10 in conference play.

NU is 1-4 the last 5 games.
Personally I have lost all confidence in them winning tonight after the past 4 games how they have played in the 1st half.

Without a win tonight they have played themselves out of the NCAA tournament.

They may have played themselves out of even making the big ten tournament. If that happens Troy D has to be at least thinking of a possible change.

After the collapse is complete, I think he’s told he’s got next year and will be gone if no NCAA, and with a deal in place for him to take less buyout, unless there is that special someone who can’t wait to take over for us next year.

They are a virtual lock for the Big Ten tournament. Washington and Penn St already have 14 losses, Nebraska can't reach that number of losses. Iowa plays Michigan St and Nebraska, Northwestern plays at Maryland, USC has Washington and UCLA. Rutgers and Minnesota play each other, so one is guaranteed a 12th loss. Minnesota also has Wisconsin and Rutgers has Purdue.

A lot of teams would have to win out in order for Nebraska to not make the Big Ten tournament

You better look again. If Nebraska loses out they are 7-13 . Minnesota/ Rutgers winner gets to 8-12 . Looser is 7-13 if USC wins 1 game they will be 7-13 . You will likely have 4reams at 7-13. 1 of those 4 will NOT make the tournament

The leverage the coaching profession seems to have over schools is becoming hard to swallow. Hoiberg originally signed a 7 year contract, and he finally had a reasonably successful season in his 5th year and is immediately rewarded with an extension and raise. One year later, that is already starting to smell like a mistake. Barring a big turnaround at the end this year, the program's seemingly squandered all momentum from last year and is heading into next year in full rebuild mode. Mast is the main centerpiece, but is he really going to come back? Its highly possible that NU is going to end up paying Fred for 9 seasons of salary in exchange for one good year.

I guess the laws of physics allow for the possibility of NU winning this game, but logic and reason suggest this is one more step in the dreary end to one of the most disappointing seasons in NU Hoop history. And brother - given that NU Hoops and disappointment are synonymous - it is quite a feat to take disappointment to a new level.

It just feels like the air rushed out of the balloon all at once this year. Ugh.

I'm poking around for Husker or Saltdogs package deals. Gonna have a hotdog and a beer while I wait for football to fire back up this fall.

If Nebraska is in a tiebreaker scenario that involves Northwestern they will be seeded ahead of Northwestern. They played one game and Nebraska won the head to head.

But there likely will be 4-5 teams tied .it will be complicated if NW holds a tiebreaker over multiple teams for example. My post was to tell you Nebraska was far from a lock as you said in your post.

The three and 4 team tiebreaker is record against all teams tied. Nebraska and Northwestern are in a virtual tie with records against teams they could be tied with. After the initial multi team tie break is settled, the team with the best head to head against all of the teams in the tie will be the highest seed, and so on down the line. As I stated Nebraska and Northwestern are pretty much tied with their win/loss against the teams that are tied. When two teams are tied, it goes to head to head. Nebraska will get in before Northwestern.

Also, Northwestern is not beating Maryland at their place. Nebraska will play in the Big Ten tournament, as I wrote before is a "virtual lock".

Tuco, if we lose out, which is entirely possible, I think it's very possible we miss the b1g tournament. Yes others would need to win but it is possible

It's just as possible the pendulum swings and we win out. This team is so unpredictable and frustrating

Anyone consider the fact that we do not have enough quality players?
