Probably the same as winning a game or two but not winning the tournament. I’m already resigned to fact we’re gonna be terrible next year. If Fred went 0-4 in the portal last year when we had a modicum of program momentum, why should I think he’s gonna bring in 5-7 players this year and field a NCAA caliber team?

Yeah, it does take something special to not be in the top 15 of an 18 team conference

Since the conference went to 18 teams it’s the first time it’s happened.

I don’t believe our checkbook balance is large enough to get enough of the kind of players we need to change things. I don’t care who the coach is.

My point is our admins need to do a better job of finding shady ways to funnel conference money into NIL and paying for players. If we don't win with it, whats the point of all the money? Other schools are doing it, guaranteed, and we need to as well.

Eight out of ten of the most successful D1 basketball coaches over time are some of the lowest character people you can find. Pitino gets caught fornicating with some woman other than his wife on a table in the back room of a restaurant in Louisville and the school turns their head until he doesn't win enough games to keep his job. Bruce Pearl was a low life asst. under Tom Davis at Iowa and eventually sent packing early at Tennessee because of multiple, blatant recruting violations. Check out why Indiana sent Kelvin Sampson packing immediately and he wasn't exactly a choir boy at Oklahoma for years. The list goes on and on. The head coaches of D1 football coaches look like high class citizens compared to D1 basketball coaches.
