I know you would.

and I disagree. a lot could and would be lost.

we're 5-4 and there's no reason we can't be in and win the rest of our games, bowl game included.

You don't know shit....I have never once wanted Purdy as the qb, but the two in front of him as you like to say...."blow". So next man up

has nothing to do with purdy.

which is how I know you'd rather see him.

The idea that they didn’t work at all with Haarberg is a false narrative. He’s not experienced in games but that’s it. He’s gone through several spring and fall camps and spring scrimmages. He was coached by this staff through the spring and fall camps. At some point we can’t make excuses for his shortcomings.

Bruh...I don't have to play a QB game. That's for kids. I know what my eyes tell me. HH has gotten worse and was horrible yesterday. Everyone with a pair of eyes seen it. You have been blowing that horn for him for the longest. Just take it like a man and eat it. He's gotten worse in fact.

I'm also not interested in what someone did playing in a completely different system. As if new coaching, systems and development doesn't matter. By that logic everyone on our defense who played poorly under Chinnander and his system would play poorly under White and his system. That has been proven in spades not to be true. So I'm not interested blind stats with no context.

I will say Ive watched the last 2-3 weeks of up and down QB play which culminated the last 2 of just plain bad play. At first we passed it off as "we are winning" so it's all ok. Someone told you weeks ago that when the rest of the team played a similar game to the QB we would lose. I've been consistent from what Ive seen and said. He's been a bad QB for a while and has benefitted from a defense who has played extremely well. That didn't happen yesterday and we got what we got.

Protect the ball. I could even deal with some of the missed throws because he is raw as all get out. But the very thing that y'all bitched about replacing the other QB about (rightfully too) you NOW wanna give him a pass.

Today I've seen you talk about how bad the OL is, how bad the RBs are, how the WRs can catch, and how none of them could play for anybody else and the QB is the only playmaker on the team. All after the QB...not them the QB had his worse game of the year and has struggled mightily the last 2-3 games. Why? None of the savior talk? None of the "they are winning because of him" talk? Of course not...now you wanna deflect blame and look for OTHER faults .

We have no clue what a Purdy would look like if given a chance under this staff. Just as we had no clue what HH would look like. Are you scared that he MIGHT look better? I'm all for playing who plays the best. Which is why I didn't complain when Sims was pulled and HH showed better than he did. I think guys like you are more scared that Purdy will look decent and you will look bad. I wanna win and I don't care who that QB is. Could be a walk on for all I care. I don't give a shit if the kid is from Lincoln Nebraska or Compton California either. If he's playing good football he should keep playing it but if he's not and he's a turnover machine. Sit him down please...

Righteous!!

So, if Purdy is inserted and looks bad, we take him out. Right now, HH is looking bad and we just absorb the misery. I guess I am not seeing the big risk here. If Purdy shines, great. I have no agenda, go with the guy that gives us the best shot. If he can't cope then we encourage him to leave after the season and open up a spot for next year.

I'd be interested in seeing a successful lower division qb come in. Late bloomers.

It's that simple. I'm still not sure why people are making it so hard lol. It's almost as if they are scared to see what another QB may offer. I watched Tommie Frazier compete with Brooke Berringer. Crouch vs Newcombe. Nothing should ever be wrong with competition. If one guy proves he is better then go with him until he shows something different. Same thing should apply here. We did it with Sims. Why not now? Who knows Purdy could get in there and stink as well. As least then you know you exhausted that option.

I wouldn't mind if Rhule told all three that they are all playing in every game from here on out and whichever guy has the hot hand for the day Plays the most. Maybe it takes the pressure off the guy knowing if he has it that day he plays if not no big deal someone else takes the slack and worry about next week.

Don't worry the goal post will move. That dude can't throw a football 30 yards in the air. What kinda football smart guy actually believes something that is obviously not true? One with an agenda. Several throws in there over 30 yards but we already knew that.

Same person was talking couple weeks ago when HH was looking bad (see the common denominator) about how Purdy was slow and couldn't run. As if it isn't on record that he's a 4.5 guy and was a top 10 dual threat guy. I mentioned earlier on here if you hear enough uninformed people posing as "football guys" tell a lie enough it magically becomes the truth. I gave some of these guys waaaay to much credit for knowing football when in actuality they are simply having a love affair with a hometown kid who they simply hope it works out with. Similar to the HC for the past 5 years. They are fans of a person more than they are of the program.

Zac Taylor had a noodle arm and wasn’t half as athletic as Purdy. It’s clear a change needs to be made. This offense isn’t being led by anyone, certainly not the dude throwing nowhere near his wide open receivers. Coleman will be a draft pick. If I’m him I’m transferring if HH is somehow the starter next season but he won’t be.

this is baseless

"big picture" apparently now means completely making things up

purdy got beaten out badly by a guy who can't hit the broad side of a barn and sims, but keep telling yourself you 'know football' while calling for a kid who's proven himself incapable.

purdy's best game of his career is worse than HH's worst but you're a fan of the program so calling for a forfeit (purdy starting) is perfectly fine

if Rhule wants to go back to sims, that's his decision. purdy is just flat out not an option.

to answer your first question, no, it's not. the fact we haven't even seen him in a helmet speaks volumes.

to answer your second questions, yes, HH's worst games surrounded by the least offensive talent in NU history have statistically been better than purdy's best games while playing with Trey Palmer in the most passer friendly offense in NU history.
Interesting comment from someone who promotes a single qb who started the season on the bench. HH didn't improve meteorically once Sims started turning the ball over, the coaches somehow got something completely wrong. I don't say HH is head and shoulders above Sims other than the fact Sims became completely unplayable. HH looks to be on a similar route.

won't find a single completion longer than 30 yards in the air during college because it doesn't exist

and forget completion, you won't find a single attempt longer than that since he's been here.

his arm is shot & has been since he got here.
Ever- strike one
In college- strike two
Now its, since he got here. What information or proof do you have that would back that up? I ask that not cynically because you might know something. Just asking what it is and how do you know it?

I have watched every televised throw he’s made as a Husker and haven’t seen it

Just lollipops that would make a grade schooler blush

Ironically, slightly over 30 yards. It was a poor decision but it is over 30 yards.

It doesn't help that three defenders are in the backfield before he finishes his drop. The O-line is trash, the receivers can't catch, and the running backs are average at best. How does an offensive coordinator call plays when they are not going to be executed anyway?

Spencer Tillman made the comment that our receivers were not getting open even with man to man coverage. Considering MSU isn’t exactly the 82 Bears that is a sad comment. We need 20 new offensive players out of the portal next year and an entirely new offensive coaching staff.

Yep

This is why I question all the “wide open receivers” posts, though HH did miss a handful

...and the goal posts slide again🤣🤣🤣. Dude is a HH fan boy and nothing more. He doesn't care about anything other than his boy starting. The agenda is obvious. Just today alone he's shit on every offensive position and every other QB trying to defend HH.

You know someone is losing ground when their first defense is what someone else did or didn't do. The agenda is obvious.

I don’t think that’d look any different coming out of anyone on this board’s hand

Zero juice
Don't be too sure. I am an expert on noodle arms. Baseball, football. But for some reason I was always good at baseball throws in basketball.

Passive aggressive posting is a bad look

You can just respond directly to me if you have something to say, kok

kokdawg must've gotten so worked up about my posts he went all illiterate on this one

probably just me furthering my agenda for rooting on an individual instead of the program, though. classic me.

Made me laugh

Purdy has played in 3 systems. Never once performed better than HH’s worst game but we know your “big picture” is very selective

He physically cannot throw the ball 30 yards in the air

I hope he plays so everyone here can see who knows what they’re talking about and who doesn’t
Another Nickleback guy

If HH had started the first 2 games and turned it over in all ways possible, would he have been benched for the rest of the season?

dude, you are wrong, a lot. Why do think this is a competition? It may be that HH is a better option, but at this point, we’ve seen enough to know that he’s not a good option. Is it better to accept death by 1000 papercuts than trying to not die? It is possible that we still die going a different direction, but at least we are trying something else, even if only for a little bit.

While that wasnt the best pass I've ever seen, I'm like a dog that's been kicked 10 too many times.

Was waiting for that throw to be 50 feet off target, either causing the WR to contort himself like Houdini on his way out of bounds, or directly between the numbers of an incredilous, laughing safety.

Sigh. Been a long time since we had a QB that could throw.

we've seen enough of purdy. zero flashes, zero juice, zero shot. if you choose to be willfully ignorant of how he played last year, that's your prerogative.

you are saying the coaching staff is forfeiting the rest of the season by starting HH?

you are entitled to your opinion.

very cool. now lets compare the offensive injury report for Sims vs HH.

whats unfortunate is i maybe could've bought into this had Sims not played at all against Purdue. but he did, and he reminded everyone what he was; a nervous, indecisive mess that breathes momentum into the opposing team. he singlehandedly turned a game that was well in hand to "holy shit, this might be another Frost-type meltdown"

Imagine being Satt, you draw up pass plays where guys are wide open only to have your qb throw it to a defender.

The thread title to me would be a pretty good QB. I would like to have the lateral quickness and feet of Sims paired with the decision making, toughness and leadership of HH. I'd probably add in the arm of one of the other backups.

At no point would I like to add any skill set piece of Chubs.

What happened to "if we die, we die"?
