how can you possibly defend those facts and say it is a competitive conference with a straight face?

Because you are straining to cherry pick stats. The Big Ten plays the fewest amount of bowls on its home turf. They only could send one team to a bowl game into the 1970s; even when they had two top five teams. OSU, Michigan, Sparty, Minnesota, Illinois & the University of Chicago have all won NCs in the Big Ten. Maybe even Iowa has some sort of claim. And there is no date for "modern" football.

The Big Ten has two teams in the playoff THIS year. We will have four blue blood programs in the conference in 2024, one more than the SEC will have with OU and Texas.

I think that makes us competitive.

Nebraska showed up at the game that was supposed to have #1 vs #2 -- sadly Michigan traveled about as far as one can in the opposite direction to play their game against a lower ranked opponent than Nebraska played - and won by fewer points

I would say that decision was on the Big Ten.

No one could run on Michigan in '97. You didn't have enough of a passing offense to stop us that year.

Agreed: no one in the Big Ten had a better running game than Nebraska. And no team had such a one dimensional offense. Our corners could have handled your wide receivers one on one, and we could have dedicated 8-9 players to stop your running game. Your military academy passing game was pathetic.

We had two common opponents. Michigan beat both by a greater margin.

And Nebraska was only undefeated due to a ref blowing a call. You can't kick a ball into the air when you are laying on your back...

And when you add both polls together, Michigan came out on top.

And Peyton Manning was so sick when you played they would have lost to Vandy.

the bowls are unfair because they're not B1G home games

leather helmet, early 1900s football success before there were 50 states in America carries as much weight as success in the last 50 years

because the media sucks the B1G's dick every pre-season, for the 2nd time in 9 years ohiost backs into the playoff without even competing in its conference title game (only P5 program that has been handed an invitation to the playoffs instead of earning it more than once) simply due to its pre-season ranking

purchasing 2 blue blood programs

equals a competitive football conference

He will get a great education if he studies and will be playing on a good team. How can anyone blame the kid for leaving?

Because he’s from Nebraska and had the potential to help us turn our program around. We have every reason, EVERY to be upset with this kid for leaving. He would have had a great education if he stayed here, would have received plenty of NIL money, and could have been a hero for helping us turn the program. As I said I hope he regrets this decision.
