Hausman committed to Michigan

I stand by everything I said, and you immediately cowering to the 1800s as proof of michigan's "prestige" drives my point home beautifully

so B1G it hurts

thanks for being a pawn once more, you cowardly dunce

All time counts everything including 2022. The present day.

And if don't want to look at history, if you only want to look at how the two programs are TODAY, only one of our programs is still playing football.

I have visited here and made posts about how I think Rhule was a great hire. I have made posts about how your new DC from Syracuse is promising. But if you just want to shit post, I am happy to defend.

do you often wish you were born in 1890 so you could've been alive for the glory years of michigan football?

No longer a Husker, he can suck it. Hope he fails miserably, just like the rest of Michigan players. Im pretty sure he isnt even a Nebraska kid. Didnt he move from somewhere else?
Wow, it's one thing to be disappointed but wishing bad fortune in a hateful way seems a bit much. There are HS kids switching schools all over the country and la-de-da, so are college kids. So what? His life, his choices, not ours.

Guess no one on here ever changed jobs. I suppose you had bad intentions for those that left your work as well?

Best of good fortunes to the kid, hope he does well in life.

2022 is pretty much a glory year, dummy. And last year wasn't half bad either.

I know you think 1950-2005 are the ONLY years that should matter in college football history. But sadly, no one else feels that way.

I'll be interested to see if he balls out or not, but sucks to see him go to someone else in the division.

Well, that I'm not 100% sure of either....he wasn't a starter until Hinrichs got hurt....I believe both Hinrichs and Remier are coming back, I'm thinking his starting spot was anything but guaranteed.
No one in their right mind is playing Heinrich over Hausmann, cmon man.

since the modern era of football, 1970...
Nebraska has far outpaced michigan..

we just had some dumb pass happy people hiring riley and frost

I get the fact kids could be butt hurt about losing/changing coaches. But this thing has the essence of a dead carp with rumors of tampering etc.

Wish he would have stayed. He'll be a good one
Someone posted the other day “when are we going to get a LB who is big AND fast AND smart. And I was thinking well we had one in Hausman.

What makes 1970 so special? How about since 2000?

And don't forget Bill Callahan!

I didnt realize this was a 3rd grade girls YMCA rec basketball forum. Aww shucks, guess we should all just wish him well and hope that he can help bring Michigan more success. They deserve it!

I miss Coach Callahan. He woulda coached at Neb. for several more years if he woulda humbled himself to get rid of Coz. Combine Callahan's offense with an even average defense and that team woulda won a lot more games

there's many reasons histrians consider the 1970's thestart of the modern era.
just 1 example is it's the first year texas allowed black people to play football.
plus there was major advancements at the highest level of the game.

callahan's main malfuction is he had no DC.

I will give mich credit for having the second best helmets in college ball.

Two platoon football began in 1964, so how is that for a start…

Nebraska 1995 and 1971 teams have for years been mentioned as two of the greatest teams in college football history…

Live with that fact..

Racial integration in college football doesn't start when Texas allowed their first black player. It started in 1890 with George Jewett at Michigan. Jewett also played later for Northwestern.

There are always advancements going on in this evolving sport. Teddy Roosevelt's intervention. The forward pass. Two platoon football. Unlimited subs. Dedicated offensive and defensive players. Face masks. Artificial turf. Steroids. Etc.

The beginning of the "modern" era keeps advancing as we all age.

The cold reality is that Michigan NIL is able to pay more for a quality backup with what they perceive to be a good upside than we are for a projected starter

Haussmann as a player is much more valuable to NU than Michigan but we aren’t in a position financially to compete

The across the board money they are handing out is crazy

Yes, it is a "fact" that they have been mentioned. Not as dominant as Michigan's first Rose Bowl team though. Beat all opponents by an average score of 50-0. No other major college team has topped that.

FWIW, Michigan fans complain that our NIL game is too weak. I don't think anyone knows. This is like the story of all those blind men attempting to describe an elephant...

george flippin attended the University of Nebraska from 1891 to 1894.
like I say there are many factors involved. to get everyone square.
Nebraska was beating the 4 horsemen 2 times on the grid iron, while on the other hand trying to explain freedom of religion to michigan, and not to be hating on the domers so much..

1970 = the start of the modern era of football

1970-present (so close!)

I am not surprise to hear you say these past two years - years in which you have won the least competitive conference in the country - qualify as glory years

you beat ohio. kudos.

sadly, nobody else feels that way

They have never been mentioned other than Ann Arbor folk lore, and that wasn’t modern football..

Leather helmets and wedges were used in those days and it wasn’t till 1902 where teams were required to have 7 men on the line of scrimmage at the start of a play.

And it wasn’t till 1912 that a TD was given the value of 6 points and teams were allowed four downs instead of three to get a first down.. In 1910 Banning interlocked interference wherein linemen interlocked arms to form a single block of interference..I believe the first Rose bowl was 1902..Man have things changes since then..

So you see Michigan leather helmet years weren’t the same as what modern football is..

So you see things have changed quite dramatically from them days.

This one hurts, no matter what the cleti are trying to say. Bench? Lol. He was our best linebacker the last month of the season. Greatly improved after the program finally got rid of the lazy coaches who did nothing but blame kids for their issues

When you claim the Big Ten was "the least competitive conference in the country", no one can or should take you seriously.

It is like someone claiming Nebraska only hit it's 90's peak due to steroids.

I get it: you are upset with Nebraska's recent struggles and you are therefore lashing out. Like someone who gets fired at work and then comes home and kicks the dog. Then gets drunk and throws beer bottles at all the neighbors' homes.

It isn't the neighbors' fault you were fired. And it isn't the Big Ten's fault that Nebraska, for the moment, sucks.

the big ten has a below .500 all-time bowl record (worst of P5)

the big ten has won the least national championships of every decade vs other P5 conferences since modern football began

how can you possibly defend those facts and say it is a competitive conference with a straight face?

Your steroids snide is off a way way off, it was the 1980’s.Don’t you remember the NCAA testing for bowls and Brian Bosworth was ruled in ineligible for the Orange bowl..

Next time you visit our board I’ll educate you some more on some more on college football history..

And 1990's footall isn't "modern" either. Nebraska's 1995 team would get boat raced by any ranked team of this year.

You can only judge a team against its contemporaries. In fifty years, today's teams will be antiquated. That doesn't mean some of them are great as of today.

Do you know how stupid that statement sounds..

Ask the SEC football honk what’s his name anyway he recently said the 1995 Nebraska team is the best in college football history..

He never mentioned any of those Michigan teams you cherish so much..
