Harbaugh to L.A, Done deal

Sports are cyclical when it comes to successful runs at titles. Time for the Nebraska Cornhuskers to emerge and start climbing to the top. OSU, Alabama, Michigan and even Georgia have had their run, time for some new teams to take the lead and push those teams down some pegs.

Almost certain he's headed to the NFL. The real question is how many of his Michigan staff coaches will go there with him. Whatever the case, Michigan players will join in the portal frenzy. No doubt opposing coaches are already sizing up the players they might want to have a crack at.

So how many players enter the transfer portal to join him with the Chargers? Lol Buckeye fans cheering in the streets right now the bad man is gone!
My guess 25...why not? You get a FREE transfer to cash in on, take it.

Not to mention, rumor is most of the coaching staff is gonzo.

Which means they are either trying to promote some dude from within OR...hire some HFL coordinator?

I feel like Mark Davis should’ve made an effort to get Jim… but instead, he settled for the unproven popular locker room pick. This is why the Raiders are a poverty franchise and have ruined my life.

Can't wait for the inevitable "you can't punish poor Michigan NOW...... Harbaugh is long gone" bleeding heart puff pieces 2 years from now.

How does it feel to be wrong?

I'm guessing Brian Kelley goes to UM, barring any ncaa penalties.
Interesting!

The fans at first were like "Hire the asst coach!" But once reality set it...they are now calling for the AD to get canned, calling for a national search and no longer want the asst coach to get promoted.

Basically, nothing is going to make them happy.

Perhaps overlooked in all of this is how Harbaugh moving on will likely affect Michigan's strategy in the infractions cases.

If he was still their guy, the school would make a huge effort to minimize any alleged wrongdoing on his part. They would try to dump it on Stalions and perhaps others, all while painting JH was a victim who was unaware.

That changes with him gone. Suddenly, UM will agree that JH at least should have known (assuming there's no evidence of direct knowledge on his part) and will readily agree that, as the HC, he is responsible for the actions of his subordinates (there is a specific head coach responsibility bylaw dealing with this, but schools routinely try to minimize what their HC knew or did -- see Self, Bill).

The upshot is that JH will likely get hit with some significant findings of rules violations and a hefty show-cause order. Of course, if he's in the NFL he can just laugh it off, but it will leave quite a legacy

Forfeited wins they are a coming. But won't have to vacate NC
Not likely. Wins are not vacated (the NCAA doesn't forfeit) unless student-athletes participated while ineligible. That doesn't seem to be the case here. This case is more likely to result in significant recruiting restrictions (both cases involve violations of recruiting bylaws) and show-cause provisions for the offending individuals

Apparently one of the conditions Harbaugh insisted upon with the Chargers is that he could bring in Colin Kaepernick to be a backup QB.

So early on the NFL said that they would honor any/all ncaa sanctions. Since Harbaugh bailed before anything done by ncaa does he receive sanctuary??
