Sure hope this isn't an example of the "new" Husker fan of today. Because Husker fans used to be humble & gracious & respectful in victory and defeat, and that was a major reason I was proud to be a Husker. This whole business of trying to put others down to feel better about yourself is a big, stinking pile of you know what.
I think Nebraska is a great program and Frost will get it turn around. But, history is history. Even the last 3 years are history. That is why we play the game every year. I am married with great kids and 4 new grandchildren. Love every minute of it. But looking at my history, those college years, playing BB, college life that I cannot tell my kids about (or my wife), and many more great times!! But cannot relive them now. Probably because my body could not take the punishment.

Iowa football consists of giving a mediocre coach a life time contract, and if that's not bad enough, letting him groom his less than mediocre son as the next coach. Their motto is "Iowa...we'll be mediocre forever".

I’ve stopped talking smack the last couple years because I know how it is being on the losing end. But guys like the OP make it difficult sometimes. I would expect Hawk fans to keep their mouths shut if we got lost by a combined 124-44 the past three seasons.

Fair enough, I'd also expect Husker fans to keep their months shut if they had zero National Titles in their life time and Iowa had 5.
We'll see what the future holds for NE football, but unfortunately as of now, anything noteworthy with your team is ancient history.
So I assume you never talk smack about Minnesota, they have multiple titles. Or is there a period of time where the history doesn't really matter any more.

Only thing I think is funny is they assume they’re e always going to beat us down like they have been under Riley. Like I keep saying, all we ever needed was a good coach and we will be competitive with them. Just like Iowa and Wisconsin does (for the most part). With all there talent they have every year, they sure seem to struggle against a well coached teams. If Frost is the real deal, we will start being competitive with them, we may not always win, but my guess the blow outs stop soon.

Another worthless thread. Huskers in no bowl game. Iowa playing Boston College. Pretty much irrelevant from both sides. People quit talking smack until the teams can back it up. Yes I grew up through the greatness when the Big Red Machine was rolling. Unfortunately that was along time ago. I just wish we could embrace the greatness of the past but unite for the future. Totally agree. The fact Nebraska and Iowa have performed similarly in that timeframe is why we’re all up in arms, and firing coaches left and right.
Like I asked before, are you proud of this and think it's a good thing? Really? Lol.
With all the impatience and unrealistic expectations your leadership has shown over the last 15 years I think it's pretty apparent that Frost is probably your last chance to get back to whatever level your fan base is expecting. If he fails NE will basically be done for good as being a potential "blue blood" again and will likely become Minnesota.
No other young coach will want to touch that highly volatile and toxic situation, NE has become nothing but a career killer for coaches. You'll likely just attract guys like Riley who are looking to make a few more bucks before riding off into the sunset.
A LOT is riding on Frost's shoulders. Better hope he delivers 11+ wins every year soon.
First off the original poster was out of line. You don't go to another teams board and talk shit. True or not. If you do, expect backlash, and rightly so. Secondly don't go running back to your own board and expect support.
That being said, right now Nebraska sucks, Iowa sucks. The biggest difference is Nebraska has a historic past and much better shot at a historic future. Iowa has been stuck in football purgatory the last 75 years with small glimmers of hope to get out but never does and probably never will. If you want to take a small sample size of 15 years and try to make a case for Iowa football greatness over Nebraska, have at it. It is Christmas after all.

What's even funnier about the OP's post is how some kid got so far under these thin skinned Iowa fans. What baffles me is the majority of the Iowa fans posting to this thread appear to be semi intelligent but yet they let some kid control and drive their emotion. Comical really.
This statement shows why Neb is better than Iowa. Look at every top program in the country. They don't accept middle of the pack results. If you don't perform you are fired. Iowa has for whatever reason accepted mediocrity with Ferentz. I am not saying he is a horrible coach just not a coach who will compete for Conf and National championships. If he would have been at teams like Neb, or Penn St, or Fl, or FL St, or Miami, or Alabama, or Michigan or ND, or Ohio St he would have been fired years ago. Every one of these teams have fired coaches every 2-5 years if there are not results.
This program should never apologize for expecting greatness. When Iowa does the same then they can be discussed in the same breath as the great programs. Until then enjoy your middle of the pack program forever.
I hope the OP is not the mainstream Husker fan, because if he is, we've fallen in a lot more ways than wins and losses. The facts remain that we, as fans, don't play the game ourselves. So if our teams wins what do we (ourselves) have to brag about. The same is true about losing. The Husker/Sooner rivalry was great because (a.) Both teams were usually great and you didn't know who would win from yr to yr. (b.) Even in the fierce competition, both fanbases were, for the most part, very respectful and complimentary towards each other. Where did that go in today's world? People bragging about talking smack on another team's board. What do you think is going to happen? I hope that Neb vs Iowa can evolve into a true rivalry like I described above. It's up to the fans of both teams to turn it around.

You say KF isn't a coach who can compete for conf and National titles and yet he's won 3 B1G titles. Fail. We've also finished #8 in the country three times (both after being ranked as high as #3 and #4). Illinois has their national titles on their press box too. What a glorious past they have huh?
