4. NU loaded up in trenches, next year will be cornerbacks
Of Nebraska’s 20 signees in the 2017 class, eight will play on either the offensive or defensive lines. That was certainly no coincidence, Riley said.

As has been his philosophy with recruiting for decades, Riley said the Huskers did and will continue to load up on linemen and cornerbacks in every single class.

Since NU only landed on defensive back total in four-star cornerback Elijah Blades, Riley said expect to see plenty of DBs this time next year in the 2018 class.

“Linemen and cornerbacks are gold,” Riley said. “Next year you’ll find a long list of defensive backs on Signing Day.”

Let me make this prediction: probably each and everyone of these linemen we got will be bashed at one point in their four years for not being tough, being outmanned or just not what we need at Nebraska.

That would be true even if the class included Foster Sarrel.

Ive never heard that about tanner farmer, dj foster, or Gates to name a few. Perhaps Gates with the injury so i could be wrong?

Let me ask you this then, do you think this years Offensive line class is better than last years crop?

Not close. We missed on OL this year. Should add 2 4*s min every year. I get easier said then done unless you're one of the big boys. Missing 1 or 2 years is painful to recover.

I love the frames of the incoming OL group. They don't have bad weight. I guarantee they'll at least look the part in two years.

My point had nothing to do with that talent level of this class or the class before. Just that Nebraska fans are especially hard on O linemen.
