TIFWIW
As of yesterday at 4pm their publisher posted the following:
Here's the latest, compiled from multiple UCF sources and those close to Frost.
The key point: No final decision has been made.
Frost has agreed to meet with Nebraska, but not until after Saturday's American Championship Game. Hearing words like Frost "owes" it to them, given the fact Nebraska is his alma mater and home state. There are plenty of reasons to believe Frost may be coaching his last UCF game on Saturday, but I am told he is truly torn over the decision. People are pulling him in all sorts of directions.
Obviously, there are friends and family that would love nothing more for Frost to return to Lincoln with dreams of reviving the program to their Osborne glory days. There are other people close to him, family, etc., that love it here in Orlando and aren't too keen on the idea of moving to Nebraska. There are also assistant coaches that fit into both categories.
This is blatantly obvious, but Nebraska is Frost's job if he wants it. The offer is said to be significant, as we imagine it would be. He will meet with them and then make a final decision. I'm guessing either by Saturday night or Sunday, that's just my speculation because nobody will want to drag it out any longer.
Frost is absolutely sick over the impact this could have on the players, and is doing his best to keep their heads focused on Memphis.
Danny White has been working on a contingency plan, but the ball is in Frost's court. We won't know anything definitive until this weekend.
