Frost still playing the victim

Oh geezus. 🤣
In 2 years Rhule & Co (granted the ā€œ& co portion are largely no longer here) couldn’t find 1 guy more draftable than a twice reconstructed Thomas Fidone

Draft eligible transfers included our best OL, best WRs and best RB

That is almost impossible

We appear to still be relying heavily on Frost’s recruits for major production on both sides of the ball going into Rhule’s Year 3

This after seeing just 2 players drafted combined the past 2 springs - both Frost recruits

Crazy
My guess the majority of starters against Cincinnati in August will not be Frost recruits. But hey you hate Matt Rhule so you be you pal.

It’s year 3 in an unlimited transfer, pay to play era

So I would f*cking hope so

Yet it’s likely half our secondary, our starting RB and our starting C, OG and both TEs at least will be Frost holdovers

Not my point you said the majority of production will be Frost recruits. you basically agreed but still want to argue. You are so dumb pal you honestly don’t realize how stupid you are .

Frost recruits
Offense - Lindenmeyer/Haarberg, EJ, Lutovsky, maybe Teddy or Corcoran. Offensive productivity for Frost recruits = whatever yards EJ Luke and HH get.
Defense - Javin Wright, Singleton, Buford, Hartzog. I expect Wright to be productive and the three safeties allow NU not to get really young on the defensive back end.

That we know of, he interviewed for 3 jobs not named UCF, after his magical season....at UCF

...but he didn't want to leave...UCF

...weird.
Well both can be true. UCF was a low pressure situation in a town loaded with things to do BUT when people are throw that kind of money at you, you almost have to take it whether you want to or not. TO’s involvement made it virtually impossible to turn down the money. He failed Tom as much as he failed himself. I’m over it. I wish him well in life.

So in your eyes Rhule liking some of the Frost hold overs is LOL. While landing the highest recruit ever at NU. Landing some very good defensive talent as high school recruits. And just getting a massive commitment from another extremely highly touted QB. Your hatred is laughable at times.

None of what he said sounds bad at all.

A lot of people take job that are not "best for them", hell I bet a lot of people on this site have taken a job that was not "best for them" but was maybe more money or closer to family or had hours that made it possible to help out with your kids more or your extended family.

I MAY take a different teaching job later on, one that is not "best" for me, but will get others some great benefits.
You will no doubt take a job that pays you 5M/ year.

So 3 or 4 on offense and that that on defense is the majority of 22? Again I stand by my post. You are so dumb you don’t know how stupid you are.
majority is your word, dipshit

I said we are once again relying heavily on Frost's recruits for production on both sides of the ball

a simple - albeit hard to believe - fact

it's LOL crazy we haven't been able to replace these guys going into Year 3.

if I'd have told you in winter of 2022 that Emmett Johnson would be our best (and only) option at RB going into 2025 you'd have called the cops on me.

Fine spin it the way you want. You don’t like Rhule? Fine some on here agree. But OT here the way you defend that ghetto trash and his kids in Boulder tells me all I need to know about you as a person.

I am spinning nothing.

we will be relying heavily on Frost's players to produce in 2025, Rhule's 3rd season here.

in the era of unlimited transfers and pay-for-play, that fact is astonishing.

Sorry I look on offense our best player is NOT a frost recruit. Our best Receivers are NOT frost recruits. On Defense where it counts the front 7 . Zero on our front 7 are frost recruits. We have 1 RB a TE and couple of OL
And a few DBs . Not exactly what I define
As heavenly depending on ?

MLB isn't front 7?

you're firmly in the spin zone

So you are not a fan of EJ…. Noted for the up coming season. One could argue with Frost track record at NU. Best cast scenario was Rhule and co coming into to develop them there last 2 seasons.

Anybody ever think that maybe even though Ashley Frost graduated from UNL she hated Lincoln, was unhappy living there, and made his life hell so he couldn't concentrate on his job? I mean, there must be some reason a good coach at Oregon and UCF crapped the bed here.

No, best case scenario was Rhule & Co replacing every last one of them with much more talented players (obviously).

And you will see many posts from me over th last 2 years wondering why Rhule’s handpicked OC/RB coaches buried EJ for no reason

He’s just not a 250 touch lead back. He’s a compliment and we have no bellcow.

Zero surprise.

Somehow, posting a 35% winning % here despite being given everything a coach needs to be successful at a P5 program was everything else's fault.

Has dude ever taken ANY accountability for his performance here?

I think it is safe to say that by now, there should be almost no Frost players on the team anymore.

I don't really understand the premise of being mad about "Frost recruits" still having roles on the team. It's totally normal for upper classmen to be major parts of football teams. Sure it would be great if we recruited new guys who stepped in and beat out the upper classmen, but it's unrealistic to think that A) we should've purged the entire roster, or B) that every single "Frost recruit" was a worthless bum who is inherently bad at football.

You could sort of tell that Frost hated it here right away, the "Don't ask about my family" and "Don't interview my family" stuff. He was super guarded before he even started.

I sort of get it but I think you actually embrace it, like Rhule seems to have done, it is probably better.

He already knew what it was like in Lincoln before from his playing days..
He knew he was in a fish bowl from the start and he had TO’s blessing was one of the top factors taking this job.

He profited immensely from failing were he won a national championship.

He's only had one winning season in six years as a head coach, I'm not sure that qualifies him as a good coach, more so that he had one flash in the pan season.

His wife knew what she signed up for by marrying a football coach. Frost's lack of concentration is his own fault, maybe he should have spent more time with the wife instead of hanging out with Davison at Gate 25.

If anyone knows the pressure of coaching in Lincoln it should have been Frost. H.S star in Wood River. Snubbed the best team and coach in CFB in the mid 90s to go to Stanford. There was a reason Grant and Jason beat the shit out of him in practices. He had to pay his dues coming back to QB a National title team. He for whatever reason wasn't ready to coach in the Big 10 and Lincoln. He failed. Period.

Yeah because successfully running a Big Ten program is exactly like being an assistant at Oregon and having one good season in the AAC.

So yes, pretty short-sighted of people here not to jump to the logical conclusion of blaming his wife.

I think that one great season at UCF went to his head. He caught lightning in a bottle and had a good QB and some talented players. Beating Auburn who had a bunch of players sitting the Bowl out only further pumped his ego.

Yeah the AAC was an absolutely horrible conference in 2017, even Charlie Strong won 10 games that year at USF. Frost had a loaded roster of fast Florida studs and a great QB, going against the likes of UConn and East Carolina every week. He was in way over his head in the Big Ten.

He might have a little success at UCF because the Big 12 is fairly weak and he is in a recruiting hotbed, but I doubt he ever sniffs a Big 12 championship. Guz Malzahn is a better coach and he was unable to have a winning season at UCF in the Big 12 after doing well in the AAC.

I thank Frost (and Mickey Joseph) for putting to bed the idea that we need to hire a Nebraska/Osborne connected guy. Now he goes back to a place he had success, but it's not easy mode any more at UCF in the Big 12.
