Frost and wife moving back to AZ?

Wait...you mean...his wife DIDN'T leave him? But...the gossip girls on here told me it was so!

And relax to those posters that will read this post and treat it like porn and crack all at once.

All the money in the world cannot erase the fact that he somehow found a way to become the worst Nebraska coach in history. He will keep that honor forever.

We have examples around us everyday of people who have a lot of money land in their laps that don’t have squat 10 years later. Scotties already got a great start to that by buying a McMansion in a housing market that is setting records on how fast prices are dropping.

Yeah the whole “who would come coach here” response was just a pathetic excuse from those who are incapable of seeing their man-crush was the worst thing to happen to the program since they started playing the game.

I just don't remember all these fans you keep referring to.....but lets say there were some, I hope you're able to move on from them someday.

Think about it. If he received $15M from us and was taxed at 50% of that and paid that purchase price price he only would have $2.1M left. If he put the balance in the bank in a CD, he'd only be earning $84,000 a year. Plus he would have to pay around $34,500 for property taxes. Doesn't leave much left to play golf the rest of his life at $4,000 a month...
Bingo. Many people think he gets to keep all that money, but Uncle Sam always puts their sticky fingers in the pot. He likely financed the house to keep more liquid cash, but no doubt he will need to work again.

I doubt it. He seems like the type that will be perpetually butthurt.
Nah, I’ll keep it going till you all learn. Some of you just take longer to figure out this is exactly how 95% of you acted 5 years ago. It’s fun to mock the hypocrisy here.

I thought his wife would have filed by now, glad to be wrong. Hate it when families split up.

I know his wife is from Arizona, but if I had $5 mill to drop on real estate, I sure as hell wouldn't buy property in Phoenix. The heat there is unbearable there half the year. And will they even have any water there 20 years from now?
The housing market is in a downturn nationally and I can easily see that investment losing value for the next few years.

We were told by you and your little group how great it was when Riley was hired which is why you and that group disappeared for years.

Well a couple of thoughts:

One, he had to get out of Nebraska so no surprise there. Tough now being recognized on the streets and a move to Arizona was likely demanded by his wife.

Two. With the purchase of an expensive house in Phoenix it doesn't seem like he plans on taking another coaching gig anytime soon or if he does his wife likely won't be moving to any new location with him.

You forgot about the $6M NU paid him each year in 2018-2021. I assume he didn't blow through that $24M and has, say $8M left over after that between spending and taxes. Using the 4% rule he can withdraw $320K a year.

if I was frost I'd do a solich thing...find a bad g5 school and recruit/design it the way he wants.
I think he could rebuild a school, with less stature and pressure to win.

if I was a coach, I'd want the unlv job...best stadium in the world and mgm to supply nil...
That's pretty much what Frost did when he was at UCF.

Or… you poor babys got everyone banned. Good work, frosturbating snowflakes

Well I don't personally care specifically about Scott's personal life. I hope he and his wife are happy and able to work things out if/when they have issues.

BUT in general I think it's worth noting that more than a few wives leave and some of them later come back. So it can be both true that a wife left a husband and now is back with that husband. That happens.

I'm really enjoying the walking it back. All of a sudden "oh nobody really said that here". LMFAO.
Also it has an exercise room? Ohhhhh maybe we'll get puke reports as well. How about how much we're paying him for every dump he takes. I cant wait to read more about this guy. He's seems really genuine with a good head on his shoulders.

Man, I remember the Rileybaters

It was odd because it was a 180 of the Frostabaters.

They Rileybaters had no idea who he was, then they "did research" and convinced themselves that OSU is actually Kosovo and that their weight room was just one Bowflex...they also convinced themselves that Dennis Erickson winning there with ease did not matter.

It was 70 most of the past week here in awful AZ. How was it in the paradise of NE?

My brother used to refer to our childhood friends who never roamed far from our hometown as “lifers.“ The lifers we know often seem to assume nowhere else compares with their hometown and conveniently minimize everything that sucks about their town as they bash everywhere else. CA is of course pure Hell and AZ summer heat says everything they need to know about AZ. Does that sound like anyone you know?

Worried about our state’s drinking water in 20 years? Maybe you ought to worry more about the droughts that may devastate NE in that same time period.

P.S. Harry Caray loved the Phoenix area and one of his daughters lives here. Maybe you should change your screen name.

Nobody wanted the Huskers to win more than him. Unfortunately, he just didn't get it done

This is sooooooo true!

Not just for Nebraskans but for pretty much everyone that never leaves where they grew up.

On the flip side, my best friend grew up in Chicago and he moved to Cali, for about the first month he loved all the shit out there. 20 years later he has never been to the ocean, mountains or trails ever again. Basically just lives his life like he is in Chicago still, just without the snow.

I like to visit AZ but when I went to a wedding in June there and it was 117 I had second thoughts about buying anything there. The glue on my Nikes melted and the soles came off walking 100 feet across a parking lot

Like it or not the water concerns are very real not only for AZ and CA. I listened to a Homeland Security/Navy Seal officer talk about 10-12,years ago. He said that they believed the next major geopolitical conflict would be fought over food and water insecurity.

The US will never run out of water and will never change to the metric system.

I moved to SoCal for 36 years and lived inland from LA so our weather was more like Phoenix than the weather in LA. Yes it was never bitterly cold the way it has been here recently, but I gotta tell you my last 10 years there I got worn out by it being 90 and above from late June to November. We moved back to OMA Metro primarily for family, but also my wife and I missed the seasons and have been enjoying them these last 3 years.

My first 10 years there I took advantage of everything, Lakers, Kings, Rams, Raiders games, Santa Anita, Del Mar, Hollywood Bowl, concerts, went to the beach all the time, skiing..... But my last 10 years was working on cars, home repairs, gardening. Didn't go to the beach or any of that other stuff at all. Part of it was it got old and outrageously expensive. Part of it was the traffic got progressively more horrible. Part of it was I got tired of crowds. And part of it is my interests changed from spectator stuff to my hobbies. So I was like your Chicago friend, but it took a lot of years to get there.
