For those in the know, or who watch practice.

Go rewatch his runs. He was indecisive a couple of times and it cost him yards. He danced instead of exploding in to the hole. One play in particular, Ameer would have taken to the house with the hole that was there. One more TD might of made a diff againt BYU don't you think? Look, I like Wilbon, but if he whiffs on a block on a blitz and gets TA hurt, we're in big trouble. Obviously our coaches feel Wilbon is THIRD string and there is a reason for that. He is NOT as fast as Newby either. Maybe he has better wiggle and is more likely to make the first guy miss, but his other deficiencies have him THIRD STRING. He's played, they have film, and he's THIRD STRING.

What string is he?

Newby is certainly serviceable. He isn't AA or Rex and may never be. He will only get better with reps though and that I think was the reason we saw so much of him against South Bama. Cross looks a bit slow. IIRC, there was a third and short that he didn't convert. That's your calling card dude. If you can't bring home the sack of groceries with your name on the bag, we cant' send you to the store. Wilbon is intriguing. Perhaps he will get more work if the Southern Miss game is put away early.
