I'm old enough to remember when you labeled Tuco a "troll" for calling Frost "Scooter" (funny and accurate)
and when you labeled Tetonia a "troll" for saying NGMR might be good enough to win 6-7 games/year here (if only)
and the countless times you've called Bruce 1981 a "troll" for suggesting Minn's coach is better than NGMR (sigh)
these are NU fans and longtime posters. and that's just a small sampling.
it's your thing. it's fine. I like you. without guys like you Memorial Stadium would have tumbleweeds blowing from sideline to sideline mid-game every Saturday.
but, whether you care to acknowledge it or not, you have clear and obvious and willful blinders on for any glaring red flags in North Stadium.
we can have these discussions and learn from one another and cheer side by side. it's the beauty of this forum.
There is a difference between Nebraska fans messing with people to get a rise (trolling), and being a straight-up troll, who is not a Nebraska fan and is only here to cause trouble. You know that and know who is doing it, but you still can;'t/won't admit it, because that is your congregation. That is who you are you are lock in step with, posters on their umpteenth screen name, openly mocking Nebraska football and rooting for them to lose, they are here to cause shit. Cool, adds up. It is kind of your thing.
Sure I want the program to do well, we all should, but I guess that isn't something we can even agree on.
I don't have on blinders, I just don't think trashing everyone and everything from day one does any good, even if you think you are "right". I think we should acknowledge the issues, which I do constantly, but creating wild make-believe narratives and conspiracy theories to go off about is just silly and unnessicary.
But we aren't going to change each other's minds. You think we should all be outside the stadium with our pitchforks after every Game, Practice, and PC. You think you make positive change by making enough negative noise to get your way (whatever that is).
I think that mindset has helped create a lot of this crazy, toxic environment around Nebraska football. I will say when I have issues and when I think it is time to move on (I don't agree with the pride some get from winning that race and being "first"). But even after I know it is time to move on, I will still hope for and root for the program to be successful. I knew Bo and Frost shouldn't have come back for their last year, but I still wanted Nebraska to win, and would have loved to have been wrong. Riley and Frost weren't my first choices during their coaching searches, but I sure wanted Nebraska to win more than I wanted to be "right" about wanting someone else.
