Florida State..WTF

Once the portal was allowed with with little consequence Pandora's box was opened and can't be shut. There should be rules about opting out but I'm not sure what can be done unless players with NIL deals have it in their contract NO OPT OUTS. I think we are seeing the slow death of college sports as most of us remember it. jmo

This will probably break the first time a playoff team has 25 kids missing during to opt-outs and gets beat by 45 points. Doubt it will be next year due to the novelty of an expanded playoff, but it will happen.

Georgias backups just ran down the field on them

Florida State had a good team this year, but they're just not on that level yet. Much like the Lincoln Riley Oklahoma teams

The playoff has killed bowl season. It sucks. All in the name of trying to attract nfl fans that never understood college football to begin with.

They need to eliminate the transfer portal opening prior to the end of the season. That’s step one. Step two is finding a way to limit tampering and limiting transfers. Kids can’t just change schools every year. That’s absurd. Third, schools need to tie NIL to completing the season somehow. Fourth, this games are really telling as to what coaches are building a culture and program and which ones have a roster full of talent that are only out for themselves. I think we have a guy that players won’t opt out on in Rhule. Time will tell.
I don't think the playoff killed it as much as NIL and portal

College football as we knew it is done. As stated the transfer portal, opt-outs, nil, conference expansion, TV money and the playoffs have ruined it forever. It's tainted the regular season and is destroying the post season.

Without drastic changes it's only going to go further down hill.

If Michigan and Washington lose in close contests ... Bulldog fans will be tweeting out how the old days were better when the National Champion was voted in. And they'll have a point.
Ahhhhhhh, it seems like just yesterday when fans were saying, "Thank goodness for the playoffs, the days of split national titles is over with."

Our society really doesn’t understand the concept of unintended consequences. The pursuit of better and different priorities has down stream effects. Everyone that has denounced and called out the universities, athletic departments, coaches, and NCAA for their greed and rules that have recently changed are culpable for the deterioration of what college sports were. It’s a new world. If it’s better is highly dependent on who you ask. But for the average fan, I’d say we’re suffering.

Sad. Game has been ruined by money. Gosh we didn't see that coming. New day. Its just a different time durr hurr like NPC's talking. Better root for it! Rah Rah money ruins everything it touches. Every. Time.

Certainly good practice for the players though.
The way some of these teams are playing, it makes me wonder what exactly got accomplished at practice. In theory, if kids are focused and the team goes back to working on fundamentals a lot can get done. But if a team practices like dog crap and the kids act like they don't want to be there, then a program could actually take a step back.

People that have never coached think coaching is like EA Sports...and the next dude in is just the same as the starters.
Amen. I hear a lot of that talk with the NFL stuff I read online. There is a percentage of fans out there that honestly think that the real game is just like the video game. You can tell that a lot of those folks have never played at a high level and never coached beyond little league.

One thing that stands out with all of this is we can all see what programs actually work with 2nd teamers throughout the season and which ones do not. By the looks of things, Ohio State had several guys on offense who were so far removed from being ready to play that two weeks of practice did nothing for them.

The sucker generation still simping for the rich. Sacrifice your well being for my wealth for a faie sense of respect. Rich have made a killing off of it.

Lmao.

"this isn't the same Florida State team from earlier in the year cuz they were missing key players"

Congratulations, you finally understand why the committee chose who they did.

Americans have poor linguistic aptitude. It correlates to being unable to think, especially big picture. Its why we’re a society of catch phrases and empty platitudes because they are simple and easy to understand.

take a lap. Committee had them ranked 4th.. then downgraded them after no new injuries. You’re living in a fantasy land if you think 23 players would have still opted out even if they were in the playoffs.
