Florida State to the BIG - soon

Only if Florida State can come up with $500 million to $700 million to get out of the ACC grant of rights.
FSU be broke. That athletic department is bleeding so much money across so many sports. One good year did nothing to change that.

Big 10 will help any one out with finances if they truly want them. Money isn't an issue. They would just structure a reduced payout or something like that.
Money is always the issue. He who has it wants more of it, he who doesn't have wants it. Getting the money will not be an issue since at this point and time it is just monopoly money. Cash never exchanges hands, notes and future earnings do. FSU and Clemson are in a region that the B1G is not interested in (my opinion), too much $EC competition and I'm not sure they bring anything to the table the B1G wants.

I don't see the big 10 wanting to fork over that kind of money, has the tv contract been finalized? Cord cutting is going to continue to increase. The only way I see this happening is if the sec, big 10 and big 12 get involved and all add in acc teams.

I haven’t seen any news of the tv contract being finalized

It is certain to be less than initially reported

Next four in the B1G will be Notre Dame, Washington, Oregon and Arizona State. The key one, obviously, is Notre Dame who will rule the conference, Rockne, the Gipper, the 4 Horseman, and on and on and on. Do I need to say anymore?

It starts this fall with ND DESTROYING OSU in South Bend ------- ND 54 - OSU 31. The start of ND's National Championship run in 2023

I doubt FSU is interested in joining a northern conference. Unless they get to the point of losing so much money like UCLA that they don't have a choice.

I agree. At some point, there's going to be a league that adds more teams and then realizes that adding the teams only resulted in a decrease in revenue for each team. I'm going to be very interested in how things go specifically for Peacock with Big 10 football games coming there. How many new subscribers? Do those new subscribers stick around? I've watched baseball on Peacock. I haven't had any streaming issues like the ones that popped up for Amazon for their Thursday night NFL games.

not another student killing like the cherry picker incident, I hope

I think that the B1G wants to get a footprint in the state of Florida. However, I believe that the B1G would probably want Miami more than Florida State, since Miami is an AAU member.

no.

once NBC/CBS saw the dregs they were to be served, they halted negotiations.

surely not to pay more for purdue/mich state every other week.
I'm guessing you're referring to this.

The B1G deal will actually increase because of the addition of the LA schools. Not because of Purdue and Michigan.

And where are you getting they halted negotiations because of the "dregs they were to be served"? Do you have a link for that?

I'm referring to this:

"These deals aren't done, and they aren't what they were represented to be from the standpoint of the NBC deal and the availability of all members to participate in November games in primetime," said an industry source.

There's tens of millions of dollars of value of the NBC primetime deal in flux, as Petitti has been racing to ensure it keeps as much of its original value as possible.

Kevin Warren was selling things that weren't his to sell. NBC and CBS will broadcast 2nd and 3rd rate games to protect FOX and BTN (also majority owned by FOX).

I have still yet to see any news of the deal being finalized following this report 60ish days ago.

Yeah I remember reading that when it first came out. It read like a hit piece from a rival network. This was actually covered in the link in my post.

It makes up less then 1% of the overall $8 billion deal. You haven't heard anything yet because it's probably being wrapped up behind the scenes, and was never that big of a deal in the first place.

Nebraska only stands to gain financially from the media deal. Significantly.

What type of incense is burned during the mass you attend?

that less than 1% number is what schools may have to pay back, not what's been renegotiated.

Will you list the November night games Nebraska has hosted prior to joining the BIG.

I’m sure there are numerous but I can’t recall off the top of my head

Ok so wait. I'm not following. Is there a big ten deal or not?

Can Nebraska go to the Big 12 like Colorado with no buyout if the deal is not inked by a certain date?

Then the douche bag OP can stop trolling the board and go back to trolling the Minnesota or ISU board or whatever she used to do.

I do agree with the 4 teams you named as being very likely candidates. I don't agree however with any of the rest of your post. :)

asking again ... many have better memories than I but surely given the complaining we must have had to sacrifice a long tradition of playing November night games in Memorial Stadium before moving to the BIG and having this beloved ritual cruelly stripped from us

How long has the conference allowed night games in November for the conference teams again?

Michigan has hosted 3 Nov night games in the last several years - Iowa - 2

Nebraska's first night game was in 1986 -- surely we scheduled several night games in Nov prior to losing this tradition with our move to the BIG
