Funny how some mock those that question Erstdud yet we have one regional win in his six years. And it came against Binghamton.
I can not believe how STUPID Nebraska plays fundamental baseball. We are down 4 runs and in two consecutive innings we have a batter strike out (that's going to happen once in a while) and a runner on 1st gets thrown out trying to steal 2nd base to end the inning ( that is not smart baseball)! Totally embarrassed to lose to a team that is now 24 wins/28 losses, has less than 3,000 students, and DOES NOT offer baseball scholarships. How bad can this get?Funny how some mock those that question Erstdud yet we have one regional win in his six years. And it came against Binghamton.
Never been any attitude with his teams. No fire, no desire. Like I've been saying for awhile, Erstad does not know how to motivate college kids.Wow, absolutely zero confidence displayed as far as I could tell. Honestly, there faces looked like they knew they were goIng to lose. Disappointing. I would love to see some kids out there that play with an attitude. I don't care if you lose, but act like you want to win.
T9. Neb up. Rally Caps and on the banana phone.
#7. 3u. 1out.
#11. 6-3. 2out.
#44. 3out.

Erstad isn't going anywhere for a long time unless he decides to do something different. I don't know what the answer is to our struggles on theHe'd still be firing a Husker legend. I literally do not think he'd be able to get that through. There were people who were upset that Mike Anderson got fired. Think about that-Tom Osborne, the ultimate Husker legend fired a guy who had no Nebraska connections before he came as an assistant, who had failed to make the Big 12 tournament 3 years running and there were people who were upset. The howling from people if a Husker legend like Erstad was fired would be deafening. Replacing him with Bolt, even if he was willing to come, would not be good enough.
Indiana made it to the CWS a few years ago. There's no reason why we can't do that in the B1G too. The only reason why it's not shocking that we lose to teams like Yale and Holy Cross is because we've seen this crap from Erstad teams before. Excusing it because we're in the B1G is incredibly lame and letting Erstad off the hook from his failures.

I dont expect to be in the CWS every year nor do I expect to be in it every 5 years. But come man. Have some life In the post season. This falls on Erstad and his staff. Lack of game planning.
Hey my little E-Stalker! Truth hurts...doesn't it?There you are! *waves at the critic*
Hmmm I wasn't aware of that. I mean if their pitchers are throwing fastballs by them or an unhitable nasty slider, I get it--I've seen that reaction in MLB. But we looked like we were spooked and just wanted to go home.Never been any attitude with his teams. No fire, no desire. Like I've been saying for awhile, Erstad does not know how to motivate college kids.
Holy Cross is in MassachusettsObviously it's tough to recruit top tier talent from warm weather states to a cold weather team but we have to recruit or develop more talent.
Hey my little E-Stalker! Truth hurts...doesn't it?
And you didn't see me when we struggled either...did you? I have rarely been on this board for months. Being that you are my stalker I would think you would recognize that. Not surprisingly, that my one post would make you butt hurt. Super fan just can't handle the facts. Back to stalking you go.I am not your stalker. You just never post except in cases like this. Had lots of good moments this season. Never seen you post one thing on that. We get eliminated from the tournament and there you are. Just making an observation.

Nowhere did I ever say we had to go to the CWS every year or even frequently. But we have a coach that says Omaha is the goal. At least making some noise in a regional once in awhile would be nice. 1-6 in NCAA tournament games is pathetic for any program, let alone one that claims that making it to Omaha is a goal.you are citing the Indiana CWS appearance in 2013 as reason why we should expect a BIG team (Nebraska) to be in the CWS on a not infrequent basis? The last time a BIG team before Indiana made the CWS was 1984 - Michigan.
So in the last 30 years one BIG team has made the CWS. During those 30 years there have been 240 CWS appearance slots (8x 30) and the BIG has filled one of them.
So because over the last 30 years the BIG has filled less than a half a percent (0.4%) of the CWS slots we should take that as evidence why Nebraska should contend for a place in Omaha.
I am not a big fan of Erstad but this is what the BIG is ... a mid major at best.
Reading this is analogous to W Michigan football fans explain how they are going to the college football playoff every year.
And like clock work...I knew how butt hurt you would get. Just like how all offseason you chastised me about Tim Miles...despite last season playing out like I said it would. But that goes right over your head. But hey, you do you super fan stalker. They fact that you keep tabs on my post is sad. But not surprising...e stalker.I realize it was your ONE post. I knew you'd be back to have your say on Erstad instead of congratulating the team. Back to your negativity.

Bingo. You can only blame the athletic director for so long.Wow, absolutely zero confidence displayed as far as I could tell. Honestly, there faces looked like they knew they were goIng to lose. Disappointing. I would love to see some kids out there that play with an attitude. I don't care if you lose, but act like you want to win.
But hey. That former Husker is coaching, so who cares! We can't hit, but boy are we slow!
Plenty of baseball talent in this state, and the surrounding ones. Stop with the excuses.Maybe is time to go full Title 9 and dump all our men's sports! Seem to be better and more D1 girls coming out of NE High schools also! Something in the water....

All season? I've literally had a handful of post this baseball season. Being that you keep tabs on my post I would think you know that. You literally are obsessed with anyone that points out the truth even when it smacks you right in your face. My obsessed E-Stalker super fan.You can't enjoy the game. Nope. You spend all the game and season bitching about the coaches.
Nah. Had a long day coaching. Team did great. Boy hit his first real bomb. Jumped in the truck after to see they lost to Holy Cross. Vowed to keep season tix in section 101 again. Pretty good day besides the annual Husker poop down their britches May/June finish.Go have a bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce. You'll feel better.
And I am a vanilla kind of guy. Go with what works!Go have a bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce. You'll feel better.
Is anyone here actually arguing that Nebraska should be reaching the CWS on a consistent basis? If so, I missed it.The Big Ten is not a baseball conference, it never has been in my lifetime and I don't see it in the future. There is some Midwest talent in the high schools, but most of the talent is in warm weather states...none of those kids want to come play in the Big Ten because it's cold here, far from home and there is no tradition to speak of. And that's just the kids considering college. The MLB draft is 40 rounds taking the large majority of talent...the remaining talent is obviously going to pick a warm weather school with tradition over us. Not even playing for a former major leaguer in a nice ballpark is enough to pull in the kind of talent needed to reach the CWS on a consistent basis. It is what it is and I don't worry about it the same way I do football and basketball where there really are far fewer excuses for excellence.
And the ESPN3 announcers said that Holy Cross is less than 3,000 students, was 24wins/ 28 losses after they humiliated us, and DO NOT offer baseball scholarships! I'm a loyal Husker fan, but this was ridiculous performances against teams we have no reason to lose to!Is anyone here actually arguing that Nebraska should be reaching the CWS on a consistent basis? If so, I missed it.
If the Huskers had simply gone 2-2 and finished second in this regional, just about everyone would have viewed this as the most successful Nebraska baseball season in many years - maybe since the 2005 team. As it is, we're left to ponder how the team got dominated by Yale and Holy Cross and never even sniffed the opportunity to play Oregon State. Sorry if I find that kind of postseason performance unacceptable, and don't buy the idea that it's because my expectations are too high.
