William Washington was a beast at blockingTE coach last year was the former SMU TE coach. Also coached at ASU. Far from a grad assistant. Still on staff I believe.
I get that, but why even bring it up (his "supposed athleticism") if we haven't seen it due to known major injuries?I mean we've never seen it, not even once since he's been here, his supposed superior athleticism. It's hard to blame fans for thinking it's myth rather than reality.
Great from an evaluation standpoint. Terrible from a coaching standpoint. We went what, 1.5 or 2 full seasons not knowing if the center would get the ball to the qb? Stupid decision to trot him out there not knowing how to snap.He was going to average at best at TE. Moving him to center was clearly the best decision Frost made as head coach for NU. Perhaps his only good decision.
It boggles my mind sometimes how long it takes a highly paid coaching staff to identify and fix something simple.Great from an evaluation standpoint. Terrible from a coaching standpoint. The braces decrease the risk of ligamentous knee injuries in high risk positions such as OLine and TE’s. For a guy like Fidone, the brace is almost a must to protect his reconstructed ACL’s. I’m sure he does a ton of proprioception exercises for ACL protection. But no amount of strength exercises can prevent ligament injuries and there is no exercise to “strengthen” the ligaments of his knee. You can hate on the brace all you want, but the idea that a brace weakens a knee has zero data to support it.You sure as hell can strengthen a joint and the muscles around it that help stabilize it. Which leads to the major problem with bracing is that these soft tissues aren't being conditioned in the way they need to be for fluid, stable motion when performing athletic activities. Which is why Fidone and others move so awkwardly when they're used to wearing a brace all the time.
Is this coming from Holgorsen or has Rhule bought into this also along with the rest of the offensive staff?Pff showed he only played 3 snaps. My guess is this no discipline, no reward mentality they are instituting
We all know most moms are blind when it comes to their sons.Has she seen her son try to run?

Mom -- regardless of what jersey your son is wearing next season, if he shows up and plays like a #1, he'll get the playing time of a #1.
ExactlyWish people would tone down the Fidone rhetoric. We win one game in forever and lots of fans are acting like its his fault. He chose Nebraska over Saban and Alabama, and he's a local kid to boot. Easy to root for and not his fault we had a crappy OC the last 2 years.
Fidone’s snaps and targetshad already decreased significantly from his earlier involvement. Benning kept talking about how Satt was misusing him and what a matchup problem he was downfield. Dana sent a loud message but the fact he was still playing before the false start says that Dana still sees a talented pass catcher there.Great from an evaluation standpoint. I guess I would have to see the studies on that. I’ve worn a knee brace for a partially torn ACL. It all it did was apply unnatural pressure to both my knee and hip. Trying to stabilize a knee with that much soft tissue between the bone and the brace is virtually impossible with an external device that short and that bends in the middle. The braces decrease the risk of ligamentous knee injuries in high risk positions such as OLine and TE’s.
