Thank you to Rivals first and foremost. It's (mostly) always fun to relive memories. So I ask you, what is your favorite memory on Rivals? I haven't been around very long, so I would have to say maybe the day Fidone committed, or the yoga pants thread (pre pictures of s***).

1. the great cleansing of the bo pelini era where dozens of prominent posters were exiled.
2. hto meltdown - threatening physical violence on fellow scrollers, telling people "i know where you work and i will ruin your life."
3. Sam-I-Am Chernobyl - after years of scrollers gobbling up his pseudo-expert babble and nonsense, the staff final packed his stuff, left it on the lawn and changed the locks.
4. @nebraskafaninwi.... nuff said
5. anything that @SarasotaHusker ever posted. love you gary.

My favorite moment on Rivals was back in 2004 when I was put in the 7-day penalty box for saying something that had been said by others 50 times that same day. Still wondering about that one.

It's weird to read about posters being exiled, banned, etc. Seems like now anyone can create multiple accounts daily and no one ever really goes away unless they choose to. Or maybe it just feels that way.

Arguing about the firing of Frank Solich was certainly epic. That split the base.

I was OK with it at first, but later realized he deserved more time. Stevey P is one of the main contributors to our downfall. "Hey guys, lets go WCO!" Hell yeah!

It was TO's fault. He hired Solich in the first place. We could have had Mack Brown. Instead, we hired Frank Solich. Sad.

Whenever that guy posted pornography durning a total board meltdown. It was super high resolution moving pictures, the technical aspect was impressive. To see everyone bitching about yet another bad Nebraska loss and then porn still makes me chuckle.

The memorable ones for me were:

HTO's random meltdown on Saturday evening. He actually had some insightful posts but couldn't hold his ego back on occasion.

A poster named ColEast or something like that posting about moving trucks around the country before Mike Riley became the HC and we were all hoping for a big name. I think he claimed one was coming from LA and one from Columbus, OH or something like that, he was entertaining.

Maybe he was the original cable box installer. Winking

#1 moment on Rivals -- by far -- had to be when a poster on RSS made a thread in May 2007 basically predicting everything that happened during the 2007 season. I think fewer than 1000 people saw it before it was deleted. We were talking about competing for a national championship so it seemed like a really bad fan-fiction at the time but it all came to fruition.

There was a time pre-Rivals where insider information flowed freely on either this site or whatever it used to be called. That got shut down pretty quickly as the internet became more commonplace and that post in 2007 was the last time I saw truly "top-of-the-top" insider info.

So is anyone able to clarify where the new site is? I have not seen anything posted as for a web address

Your post reminds of last summer telling a relative who's pretty plugged into things in Lincoln that I thought we'd be pretty damn good in the fall. He said, "Nah, it's a total shit show." Boy was he right!

Texas road trip.

And if this place is still here tomorrow, then we'll have two places to post and hang out. Not sure how this is all going to settle. We've had this before with Huskers Illustrated moving to 24/7. Life goes on.

so, should I revive a prior alias, use an entirely new one or keep this one?

That dork HTO! My friend coached against his kid...HTO is not only a super annoying poster but he is that typical jackass father in the stands as welll.

That other weirdo, jawbreaking safety play.

And then who was the dude that came out and said he had a porn addiction? Dude...we get it...your wife caught you looking at porn. That is not an addiction.

My favorite threads were non-football threads, esp. the ones about visiting the panhandle. Thanks to all the great suggestions I got here I altered my annual route home to Omaha and went visited Scottsbluff and Chimney Rock, something I continue to do.

It's hard to believe that I've been on this site since 2001. Wow.
