One more news topic/item that includes the letter "K" as the beginning letter of subject's name that I will ignore: that includes the Klan, Kanye, Kardashian, and now Kaepernick.

PS..our Country needs men such as Col. West, Sheriff David Clark, Dallas Police Chief David Brown & Drs.Thomas Sowell & Ben Carson right off the top of my head. I'd follow those men anywhere.

He certainly has every right to get his point across however he decides. But, if he ever has to call the cops for something, if he ever needs the men in blue to protect him from something, if he's in need of protection or needs the police at his home, I hope they take their sweet time to get there.
The fact some are already not doing their job very well this would be business as usual I guess

I don't think it's ridiculous to point out that, when it comes to black people expressing concern over the way our society treats them on a systematic level, there doesn't seem to be any way that is acceptable to white America (generally speaking, obviously) and which would actually be somewhat effective. Kaepernick has gotten people otherwise inclined to avoid thinking and discussing "political" issues to think about how our country can do better in the way it treats black people. That's the first step in actually accomplishing systematic change and I, for one, praise him for his efforts. If you step back and actually listen to what he has to say, he is extremely patriotic; so patriotic, in fact, that he expects our country to live up to the ideals it is supposedly founded upon and is willing to use the platform he has, and personally sacrifice, in order to help make sure it happens.

He's such a fine human being.

Make no mistake...black people are dying in Chicago per capita argumenty is BS and bigoted within itself.

2600 people have been shot in 8 months...that doesn't include the people who were lucky and didn't get hit.

Stop minimizing black people dying to win an argument.

None of our cities should have murders like that. Black people are only 13% of the population, but have the most gun deaths in the nation... per capita that.

Kick him out of the NFL for an opinion but domestic violence, DUIs, PEDs and other crimes - come right in!
When I have good friend and a relative fighting over seas for freedom, the flag and it's symbol means a lot to me. When your sitting at Memorial Stadium on Saturday think about the price that has been paid for us to watch that game in freedom. You might even enjoy a military fly over.

I have family and friends in the military too. I just find it hilarious that you want him kicked out of the NFL for an opinion. Meanwhile others still active in the league have committed actual crimes but because they stand during the national anthem, let them play!

Besides, his stance has nothing at all to do with the military.

Kap is an ignorant dude that knows his football career is over so he is getting a head start on his next gig as an "activist" He will likely be cut in a number of days. he will say it is because 'he stands up for what he believes in' etc. when in reality he's just a bad QB who has lost all of his size and strength. look at the dude 3 years ago and look at him today. He's lost 30 to 40 pounds of muscle and his cannon of an arm has turned into a wet noodle. Kap has never been able to read defenses and had well documented struggles even when he was a freak athlete and he had Harbaugh to spoon feed him everything.

If you think it doesn't get brought up, you're lazy. And not just a little bit lazy, like, "Oh is your google broken" lazy. Guess you missed that ESPN just hosted this event, IN CHICAGO:

http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-r...athletes-responsibility-violence-thursday-es/

Basically the first thing Rondo did when he got to Chicago was try to see how he could start combating this problem. Wade has been working against it.

Lock it, boys. We've had this conversation too many times already and we've clearly identified who is on which side of which narrative.

padlock-icon-1280x1024.jpg
So the name of the conference is - An Undefeated Conversation: Athletes, Responsibility, and Violence – a discourse on athletes, guns, violence and law enforcement. Violence is tossed in with guns and law enforcement. My point – the black community looks at all the wrong things. A handful of black people are killed in Chicago by cops and over a thousand are killed by other blacks – they focus on the cops. And the black community scratches their heads wondering why their population has remained stagnant as a percentage since the 1960s. But, hey, they can feel good for a moment that Kap is sitting on his ass.

Not to diminish the service our soldiers have provided. I almost went into the military after 9/11. And many of my friends did. Multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. One was hit by an IED.

One thing they all said after was this: "I have no idea why we were there." And what freedom is said relative fighting for? Were we attacked? Are we at war?

The amusing and sad thing is that it appears that most of the country is now talking about and distracted by some JA sitting during a moment of patriotism at a game instead of the corruption that is so rampant and obvious in our governing administration and by the democratic presidential nominee. not to mention that perhaps it would be poetic justice for the police to just not show up to any of the 49'rs games. perhaps that would put some things in perspective.

You make a good point and the current president has no plan or clue or vision. As see all of these viscous attacks on innocent people I believe we are at war . The good news is November we have a chance to elect a real leader in Donald Trump who has a plan and vision.

For me it's super simple. Vote for the queen of mean if you want millions of additional dirt poor refugees you get to finance till the day they die, then get a bill for the funeral when it's over. I'll take Trump for America's survival, thank you very much. Good gawd how is this thread still going? Even I think less of myself for letting myself get dragged into this.

Just for the record, the current president didn't start any of those wars, nor did the current president fall asleep at the wheel when all but GW were informed of a potential/imminent attack.

What exactly is his plan when it comes to our military involvment in the Middle East?
He's gonna hire some good people, and, like win and stuff. Okay?

Edit: Damnit! It's game day!!! Why are we talking about this?! There is plenty of time to have political arguments in the coming months.

This thread should be mandatorily moved by a mod to an unknown page.

You speak as if there hass been a difference between Republican and Democrat presidential candidates. They have all operated from the liberal playbook since Reagan.

There's clearly a disconnect between his message and how people are interpreting it.

The issue isn't with cops who get shot or shot at. The issue is the unarmed people getting shot or killed. As an example, the behavioral therapist who has both arms in the air and is sitting down. He is trying to calm down his autistic patient and inexplicably they shoot him. Or the kid in Cleveland who gets shot 2 seconds after the cops get out of their vehicle. Get out the car and shoot. There are good cops and bad cops but these images and videos stick with people.

I appreciate those good cops who do their job and protect the public. I am on the side though of wanting more accountability for the bad ones and if Kap's protest brings more awareness to these very real issues then I hope he's successful.
