Espn win loss projection came out

So are they (osu, wisky) guaranteed losses or not? If that’s how this works, I suppose I could put quotation marks on my words and then say I wasn’t serious. Then no one would know what it is, exactly, that I was trying to say.

It’s pretty simple really. Those are the 2 teams that I don’t think Nebraska can beat in 2018. If Patterson is cleared, that number grows to 3 with Michigan. Every other game is winnable. Is that better for you ass clown?

SB Nation has them at #60 in early 2018 rankings. Of course Ohio St #1 followed by Alabama.

Next season is all going to come down to the QB really. While the team as a whole might drastically improve, this system more than others demands a lot more from QB.

Well, no wonder most here think you’re a douchebag...Laughing

I've come to realize that the cloudier you can make your message, the less you'll be questioned.

"Am gonna see it the second or third times, because I had never seen it before, then decide why I never saw it when I was seeing it the 6th or 7th times."

See...no one will question me on a post like that. They might wonder if I'll be picked up for eating June bugs and discarded wrappers on Dodge St., but they won't concern themselves with my posts at all.

Wisky isn't mission impossible. I would like to play them close at least. I remember at the game thinking how weak they looked for a top 10 team. As bad as we were and as bad as we were playing, we were tied with them mid-way 3rd quarter at 17 before they started just steamrolling with the running game.
People need to stop disrespecting Wisconsin.
Its nonsense.
And it needs to stop.
They have an excellent program.

I respectfully disagree. Line play on both sides of the ball are a far bigger variable/priority than the qb.

wild leap of logic to get from my comment to disrepecting wisc. They do have a good program. They were also over rated as a top 10 team.

Im sure youre also one of those who said theyd lose to Miami.
They were nit overrated. This is hogwash.

I agree and disagree. Wisconsin is an excellent program, but only so recently, and still a 50/50 game in most years. The Alvy years were good for them at the time, but still a .500 program. BB raised it, GA maintained, Christ so far raised it again in a small sample size. The there is Iowa, who is a popular target here. They are not excellent like Wisky is at this point in time, but very good, and the team Wisky was chasing all throughout the Alvy and bielema days. The belittling of them gets old, funny, but old. I get it, but over decades Iowa and Wisconsin have if anything else, been consistently difficult to beat. That’s going to continue regardless of how good nebraska is or will be. Read carefully... it says difficult to beat, not that Nebraska can’t or won’t. NW is proving to have some staying power. Purdue, Illinois will be pains in the rear a couple of times a decade, and then there’s the boat rowing rodents. They’ll likely make small waves infrequently.

Over the course of the rest of our lives, Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska will be the most consistent contenders in the West year in and year out...as it has been for our first 9 years in the B1G

over the last decade Wisconsin is 101-34 + 3 conference championships.
they have won the division 4 of the last 7 years (5 if you count the year PSU and OSU were not eligible). This is despite having 3 different head coaches during this time span.

they have been to a New Years 6 bowl game 5 of the last 10 years - it has been 15 years since we have appeared in just one

In the next decade I don't think we match these results - I'm not sure we even come close to going to 5 big boy bowl games and win the division more than 50% of the time the next ten years and if we do the response on the board most certainly won't be .... meh

show me we can beat Wisconsin and Iowa on a regular basis and then I will worry about loftier goals

If Wisconsin hits a downturn similar to what Nebraska has been in, Nebraska could easily match those results. The fact of the matter is the big 10 west is not very strong top to bottom, year in and year out.

Yes maybe Wisconsin’s record and thus their perceived program strength is be a bit inflated due to schedule ...never the less I will be interested in our head to head record over the next decade ... Im sure most will be very happy to finally beat them and I doubt those wins will be accompanied by some of the qualifiers discussed previously

If their true program strength is over emphasized and Iowa is only consistently slightly above average then we should have no problem routinely winning the division based on the reported expectations .... I am very excited to have this staff but based on the last 15 years I am in the show me don’t tell me camp

Well, that's fair enough.

But I wouldn't be surprised what-so-ever if NU with SF starts dominating the West division in year two or three. As you say, Wisconsin & Iowa are good programs to be sure. But when NU starts hitting it's stride.....it very well could be overwhelming.

We'll see!

agree to disagree on iowa and wisconsin being in the same stratosphere.

That does not, and should not, diminish their success.

THATS what you have to go to, when you know full well we aint talkin about all time. Wisky was one of the worst teams in all of football for 20 years.

How about comparing Major bowl victories and conference championships won outright between both programs.

Headin' to Vegas tomorrow . . . you guys have got me just so confused . . . 5 wins? 6 wins? How much do I put on the Yankees? Jeez . . .

I believe head to head competition is a better gauge when you compare teams in conference playing each other, I threw out the leather helmet years of the 40's 50's 60's and 70's.

You don’t know jack about the history of football helmets, when they started wearing hard shells? when they started wearing face masks on helmets?

Major Bowls/ BCS /New Years 6 ( all the same)
Rose Bowl
Orange Bowl
Sugar Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
Cotton Bowl
Peach Bowl -turned to a major Bowl when New year 6 started.

Now how many has Wisconsin won ?

Iowa won only one since the 1959 Orange Bowl.

I think our new defense is going to bring fits to big ten offenses. I believe they will give up some big plays but will also add pressure and cause havok.. creating more turnovers for our offense.. its gonna be fun. I still think we get 7 wins.. maybe 8

New defense? Did you not run a 3-4 last year? 38 points a game in Big Ten play.

Unless there is new personnel on the line, it will probably be similar numbers.

Think maybe a different defensive coordinator might make a difference?
TBD. New coaches often shake things up, usually but not always for the better. In any even, it is always interesting to see how often fans assume that players will perform at the same level from one year to the next when we know that most returning players improve with age and additional experience. The key is to improve more than the players who lined up across from you the last time you played.

This team will have new contributors this year.

We recruited better than everyone on our schedule except OSU, Penn State and Michigan.
