Earlier this week I started a thread asking if, under the pressure brought by the Illinois loss, Eichorst would stick to his rule of staying silent.

His stated rule, and there's more behind that link:
“What I want to try to provide is some balance and some stability, right? It’s more important for me to manage that behind the scenes than to go off and tell everybody that everything is going to be OK, and we’re going to get through this. Because we are. That’s how we’re structured."
His decision to grant an in-season interview for the sole purpose of saying just those things tells me there's pressure brewing behind the scenes - on both he and Riley - and that he has different rules on how to support a coach he hired. Eichorst honestly "likes where we are at" right now?
I'm fighting the urge to conclude it's a sign of desperation.
Winning games would certainly help.
