Nah, let him learn on the job. Keep this dumpster fire blazing for years to come…The fact that he's not an athletic director should also disqualify him from our list of candidates. We need someone who knows how to run a major athletic department.

What makes you think we could compete in the B1G? Texas owned us on the field for our entire time in the Big 12. Iowa State would be chalking up annual wins. And we will find out how well we compete this fall with OU. The conferences are not the problem.Something to think about...
From an article, "Stewart is executive associate commissioner of the Big 12 Conference and has been with the conference for 14 years"
Maybe he can navigate Nebraska's return the Big 12 someday?
To me, that is one of the best things that could help bring back football success to Lincoln.
derogatory term for white person
We competed fine in the Big 12. We have not competed well in the B1G.What makes you think we could compete in the B1G? Texas owned us on the field for our entire time in the Big 12. It is little things too...We competed fine in the Big 12. We have not competed well in the B1G.
In the Big 12, we had good recruiting in Texas. In the B1G, we have no natural recruiting ground.
The B1G has been the nail in the coffin for this program, and I would like to see us GTFO of this stupid conference so we can go back to playing our traditional foes, recruiting our traditional areas, and get back to a respectable football program.
The longer we stay in this crap conference, the worse it gets.
Fixed it for you..The good news is half the posters like you. That's better than the ex- president gets when he speaks.
I did too. So disappointing.so disappointing - I fully expected to read about her hooking up with some inmates - one of which was a Missouri athlete - and the entire escapade being videotaped
nothing to see here
Fans cheering for Ed need to realize that some of his employment history is problematic. That's all. I don't know the man but I know that he has had some issues that should disqualify him from being the AD at NU. IF IF IF he were such a great candidate we would have hired him instead of bringing in an outsider like Moos. I don't think he would get Osborne's endorsement either.People love to post crap like this before a person gets a job, so when they get fired they can come back and say look I told you he was the wrong person! It’s laughable.
I’m not going to disagree with you but he would still be better choice than Matt Davidson.. And you can say the same about Trev Alberts if he wanted this job he could have had it after Howdy Dowdy..Fans cheering for Ed need to realize that some of his employment history is problematic. Sounds like Ed took his que from coaching staff he played under at Nebraska. He would be right at home.Who said anything about "shocking"? But there is no reason a player locked up in jail for assault should be calling Ed Stewart who was asst athletic director at the time. There is much more to the story and does not put Ed Stewart in a good light.
We went going back.We competed fine in the Big 12. We have not competed well in the B1G.

She seemed "well spoken".Ed Stewart would have to explain his way out of this situation involving his wife if he wants the Husker AD position. Sounds like Huskers should interview Stewart's wife too to see what we would be getting with her. Needless to say this whole situation at Missouri does not make Stewart out to be someone we would want for our AD position. Don't kill the messenger I just googled Ed Stewart to read more about him and alot of articles are about the situation. Link below.

Google is blocking the search 🤣 LOLI call shenanigans! I Googled "Ed Stewart" and found zero articles, let alone "alot" (as the OP claims) regarding this "scandal". I even Googled "Ed Stewart controversy" and after 4 pages of links, one came up that was about the wife of the Missouri president.
Go ahead, Google it for yourself to see who is telling the truth.
Of course it is but you're not supposed to talk about itI know the other thread was blocked because of stuff, but I will contend that race will have an impact on the decision. Sometime in 2020, the student athletes were asking for more people that looked like them to be hired in significant roles in the Athletic Dept, I cannot find the link to the article right now, but I am not sure there has been many, if any, minorities hired since that time. I am not saying there was necessarily a date or deadline for that to happen, but if Stewart were to be hired, that could very well be some of the motivation behind it.
Ed is more than qualified and happens to be Black. I would focus more on the former instead of the latter.Of course it is but you're not supposed to talk about it
I will be very disappointed if we hire Ed Stewart. He is probably a very good man, but it appears he has had some bad lapses in judgement which IMO disqualify him from consideration for our job.
AgreedEd is more than qualified and happens to be Black. I would focus more on the former instead of the latter.
If people want to choose to focus on his race, then there are many positives having people in positions of power on campus as we attempt to resurrect programs like football and basketball that disproportionately recruits Black student athletes.
Every man in his late 40’s has made bad choices at some point in his life. The only question is how Public they areIt looks like he's the pick then.

how many years ago ? We all have a few indiscretions. This doesn't seem anywhere major.I will be very disappointed if we hire Ed Stewart. He is probably a very good man, but it appears he has had some bad lapses in judgement which IMO disqualify him from consideration for our job.
He wasn't in his 20s when that incident happened. It's not a good look and it will hang over his head if he's hired by NU. The NU AD job is a much more public position that endures an immense amount of public scrutiny unlike the job he held with the Big12.how many years ago ? We all have a few indiscretions. So you're saying I would be the only one employed in this country? If everyone became disqualified for any job because of a racist remark then not a single human in the United States would be employed.
