EA Sports College Football 25 Updates

I was flirting with the idea of getting an xbox series S. It is the cheapest and I am familiar with the xbox controller but 400$ to play 1 game is tough to swing. If I could get a used console for 100$, I probably would.
It’s $400 for an outdated console? Isn’t the new gen console like around $500? JMO, but if anyone is going to spend hundreds of dollars I don’t know why they would try to save a little to buy an outdated console that may not even be supported in the future and won’t have the same shelf life as a new gen. I realize $200 isn’t nothing but if your investing twice that already I would just get the newest version and be much happier.

seems like very little detail in terms of the Tunnel Walk

they have the horseshoe, but that's about it

no Sirius, no gate opening, etc

compared to this, we look like a generic MAC team

The game in general seems to have done a good job of being inclusive, but it is fairly obvious that they were preferential with extra details and player ratings generally to the programs that have been doing most of the winning the past 10 years. Unless your Colorado apparently.

Xbox series S (299) + Game (60) + plus tax equals about 400$. Even more if I want to play online.
I already have a PC so I only need a weak ass console for 1 game. And all 3 available consoles are garbo.

I hear you. It also depends on what TV you’ll be playing on too. The next gen graphics on a 4K TV are pretty awesome. I realize that’s not a huge deal in a sports game, but everything looks better when you’re playing in 4K 60-120hz.

this guy is ass
I just watched his video. Fun to watch Nebraska on one of these. But man, he is not very good.

I’m glad he admits he needs help and asks for tips in the comments. It’s refreshing to have someone admit that they’re not great. But that was pretty easy to see, because he stinks.

I did like like that the pop pass is in the game. That’s cool.

Never considered myself to be very good, but saw him generally try to fit into tight windows when there was a guy wide open or becoming open

it’s 3pm and the game is now loading the wait is over! Now I just need to find out how to play it and work at the same time until 5pm lol

Fired it up briefly on my 10 hour trial. (Not paying for BS edition).

- I think Kong did our roster. We blow.
Most are what they should be. TE and MLB seem messed up to me. Lenhardt and Princewill should have got more love.

- Either I'm rusty as ****, or I hate the new default passing. Putting touch on the ball is hard. Like I said, I'm rusty as hell. Haven't even played a Madden in a couple years.

- Presentation is awesome. No Sirius, but Memorial looks great and a little Husker Power in between quarters.

it’s not you being rusty, everyone on Reddit said they are throwing multiple picks and wild passes while trying to learn the new passing system. I haven’t had much time yet to play a game but I’m sure I will struggle with the new passing system as well.

I noticed there's a lot of players missing on the huskers roster. I wonder if they opted out or EA just missed them. I understand the Enrollees that came this summer but there is some other names missing like. Gabe Irvin, Elijah Judy etc. also looks like Hail Varsity wasn't licensed because they're not it, instead they're using "There's no place like Nebraska" for the runout and touchdowns.

Yep

We are a generic MAC team

Is it possible to play defense in the game? Everything I’ve heard is that the game is a fast paced offensive shootout

Call me old school but I feel this new game is a little clunky - similar to Madden in player movements. They did add some cool stuff, and I actually like the passing better, though harder. I enjoyed when it was more user based you could run around with your safety and make plays for example.

Not sure if I just need to get used to the defense or what, but it does seem tough to stop anything.
I am rusty as hell and need to get used to pass rushing mechanics etc though. So I'm sure familiarity with play mechanics and playbooks will help .

Loving the game so far. Home run in terms of the short amount of game play. The physics engine is top notch. Made a new PB using Michigan as base and added some more 12 personnel. Absolutely nailed it with the amount of plays available.

Haven’t ****ed with defense yet but it’s good when you can’t stop the offense, until it settles in. You don’t want the game to get boring. Playing on heisman and busting big runs with generic Gabe Ervin. Also, we have some fast WRs and some Sasquatch WR.

Nebraska will be a good online team

Initial impressions:

—Passing is hard, but I like that there’s going to be a learning curve.

—Sim engine and pursuit angles both seem broken and will hopefully get a patch quickly.

—A couple of streamers have mentioned that the deadline to “opt in” wasn’t clear to everyone, so some players flat-out missed it. Might partially explain why we have more than a few missing players, and it sounds like other schools are having the same issue.

—Commentary is much improved, but you still have the awkward “Joe Montana Talking Football” throwback annunciation with some of the intros (“The Nebraska Cornhuskers (stilted pause) taKING on a FELLOW Big Ten foe…”).

—Disappointed that there’s no “Hail Varsity”.

—Memorial Stadium looks amazing.

Love the gameplay. I dove into the deep end and started a dynasty on Heisman without any warmups to get used to the gameplay. Started 0-2 with the offense fumbling with less than 1:30 left both games and the defense giving up a big play for a go ahead TD or Field Goal... felt a bit too real.

Colorado's Hunter seems way overpowered. Sanders finished the first half 2 for 2 with 176 yards passing and 2 TDs because Hunter would break two tackles and then just out run everyone else. Settled in after that but damage was done.

I will definitely be going away from the Nebraska Offensive playbook.

I will say the recruiting seems way too easy considering I started 0-2, but I'll have to double check and make sure the difficulty setting on that is maxed out as well.

Should be a fun game to play online. Personally love the increased kicking difficulty.

The weirdest thing that is happening to me is I can beat teams ranked in the top 5 when simulating but I have never beat an FCS school when I simulated a game. Should be the opposite happening. I see people on Reddit saying the same thing. Hopefully they fix this with the next patch.

Guy at work said he had to turn the interception slider way down as he is getting picked off 6+ times a game.
I actually felt like the INTs were pretty solid. If it's open and you throw it to the right spot at the right time, you're good, there are no freak BS intersections. Deep balls that are 50/50 are rarely intercepted and rarely caught (seems legit). But over the middle throws that are in traffic and/or poorly timed are pretty realistic and have a decent shot of being intercepted if your receiver isn't in the mix.

Only 5 games in, maybe that's a small sample size, but I would think I'd have noticed by now if it was so overpowered I'd need to drop the sliders down.

Might depend on what passing settings one is using. There are maybe 4 settings you can use iirc.
I think for the most part passing is ok.
There is still the BS where imo EA doesn't understand trajectories and passes over the middle can be picked by a linebacker or safety that is nowhere near deep enough in their zone and the pass should go over their reaching hands

Good point. I went with the Revamped Passing. I didn't try the others. Curious which one people are opting for and if you will be forced to use a specific version for online play.

Went classic. Practice seemed fine. Safeties break on balls if they’re facing the QB, which is good. LBs will snag it if your pass is low over middle

Zone coverage seems to bust quite a bit. If there is a hitch-fade combo route, the cover 3 corner always glues to the hitch. Otherwise gameplay is pretty fun.

That will get patched relatively quick

Anyone else play tonight after an update and find playing the computer insanely easy? I had to stop halfway into the game to make sure the settings were still on Heisman, which they were. I've never played an evenly matched game ratings wise (Nebraska vs Purdue) and had such a blow out in my favor. 58-3 with 5 pick sixes.

Going to play the next one... but something doesn't seem right. Did they break the game?
