Definitely with the coach fired. Is there a choice not to fire Riley? Of course there is, but imagine the rebellion if a new AD came in and didn't fire Riley...he or she would then be on the hot seat from day 1. So, if Riley has to be gone, then it's better for the AD to come in with a fresh slate and not start off firing a coach admired throughout the profession. He or she will then have no connection to the Riley era.
Is it better for the program, though, to make a decision before the new AD is in Lincoln? That's another question. There have been arguments over the last several weeks that have addressed that question, so I'll let it rest.
