Does having a head FB coach opening make the AD job more or less atractive?

I was asking this question myself. I honestly don’t know if an AD would rather come in without a coach or would’ve rather fire them/make the decision himself.

To some it would and to others it wouldn’t. It will define you at NU, so if that’s their thing...

Definitely with the coach fired. Is there a choice not to fire Riley? Of course there is, but imagine the rebellion if a new AD came in and didn't fire Riley...he or she would then be on the hot seat from day 1. So, if Riley has to be gone, then it's better for the AD to come in with a fresh slate and not start off firing a coach admired throughout the profession. He or she will then have no connection to the Riley era.

Is it better for the program, though, to make a decision before the new AD is in Lincoln? That's another question. There have been arguments over the last several weeks that have addressed that question, so I'll let it rest.

A good candidate would see taking the job as a challenge to come in and right a wayward ship. Getting that person, much like getting a real good coach, will be an interesting task for those in charge.

Either way I see us with a new coaching staff. Most AD's like to bring in their guy because their ultimate success will be tied to that hire.

Anyone worth a grain of salt knows that we have a HC opening.
And if they don't want to have to be the hatchet man, I don't want them.
