Does Frost even leave?

May as well carve that in to some stone in the middle of the Gobi Desert. Some places are Mecca to these guys, others aren't. I'm sorry but the only stone at UCF is stepping stone.

Not to sound like an ass, I just don't see him staying.

I hope so, and if he goes, goes to Nebraska.

I suppose I'm asking does he stay the course and assume security or take the risk to reach the pinnacle? As a coach what would you choose?

If I could take any Power 5 job that opens up, and I'm Frost, I would take the following, in order...and it is based on my recruiting ties/link to talent.

1. UF
2. Tennessee
3. UCLA (if it opens)
4. Nebraska

I wish some of you would visit the UCF Campus instead of just producing hot takes from people with agendas on Twitter. Frost loves the Campus and living in Winter Park.

He may leave but this isn't similar to the PJ Fleck situation

Remember, Urban left Florida for tOSU, for what he perceived to be easier recruiting in the Northeast.

Well everyone can take this for what its worth as I am. There is a hole or two in the story so I'm unsure. I was at a hotel bar in Des Moines Saturday night and an Iowa guy saw my Husker Jacket and said......"Hey I might have found a guy as miserable as me tonight" I responded back yea it sucks but at least we are getting a new coach. He said who and I said we don't know yet.....just that Riley is gone. Then he says.......Scott Frost isn't leaving Central Florida for another year. He went on to say that the defensive coordinator Eric someone is a brother in law and he told him three years ago that he would be the defensive coordinator at Nebraska by 2017. He then said it looks like he missed that projection. Anyway we were talking and he said he hasn't personally talked to Scott in a few years but met him when at an Oregon game visiting the in-laws.

Here is where the story gets fuzzy and makes me doubt it. He claims his brother in-law stated that Scott wants another year at UCF because his bowl bonus option of $500.000 kicks in that year and he can use that as a bargaining chip.

So I said to this guy that doesn't even make sense. Its very likely he could get an offer of $3 million more a year than what he's making at UCF right now so not sure why he would hold out a year hoping to use $500,000 bonus as a bargaining chip. The guy just gave me a dumb look. Then he went on to say that we wouldn't be able to do that with our 9 million in debt we have to pay off our old coaches over the next few years. I just kind of shook my head and said we are looking at a minimum of $20 mil more a year being fully vested in the B1G and our new Adidas contract. He again gave me another dumb look (remember this is an Iowa fan) so I finished my drink and left. lol

UF is worse than NU has ever been with politics and bad administration, not a good place to go ask Meyer
Tenn -really
Ucla - blah

You just created a list where you think the most talent is closest , the are many other considerations

Do you disagree? Cogent thoughts/analysis?

Instead of straight up Nebraska paranoia?
I️ absolutely disagree.

1. Florida
2. Nebraska

3. Tennessee

4. UCLA

You make way too much out of this close to talent stuff. Nebraska attracts recruits and recruits circles around everyone else in the division. Nebraska has much more support than UCLA and doesn’t have to play second fiddle to other schools in its own backyard and Tennessee is a hornets nest, in a brutal division. All three of Nebraska, UF and UT are great jobs and I expect all three to land good coaches, UCLA not so much.

Yeah, but you are also talking to a guy who thinks that UCF is a destination job for Frost.

Frost will leave UCF - he can always go back to a small program like this. Look at all the small Florida school coaches currently. Lane Kiffin, Charlie Strong and Butch Davis are at Florida Atlantic, South Florida and Florida International. All former coaches at big time programs. He will take his shot at a big time program. Hell it was just a few years ago that UCF went to the Fiesta Bowl and guess what? People still don’t go to the games there.

If Frost is a good enough coach that he can come to Neb succeed I think he's also good enough to stay and keep building a reputation. I guess it depends on what he and his family want. 5 Million a year with no pressure can sound real good. Especially in sunny Florida. If I were your AD Iowa St coach is where my money would go.

Florida is the #3 P5 program in the state (the top in stage kids that want to stay in state pick FSU and Miami first) and just fired a guy who won the division 2 of his first 3 years.

Noone with a wife and new baby is going to even think about touching the UCLA job.

Tennesee is the only even remote threat and they are not quite on our level as far as resources. Sure recruiting is easier but it isn't easier than the competition. Nebraska recruiting for all it's percieved hardships is still far easier than most of the teams on the schedule and even Riley proved that elite talent will show up, you just have to give them a reason to stay on the field.

I would be more surprised to see him here than at UCF next year. Attendence may suck at UCF, but which of the two is a better job right now? Less travel, lower expectations, and more time to hone your craft as an HC and CEO of a program. He can have his pick of jobs. For all any of the experts, insiders, and guys connected to the cable companies know, he may want a Pac 12 gig over the SEC or Big 10. I was optimisitic a few weeks ago that he would come here but now I would be completely stunned.
OMFG people? What is the better job? This is the most ridiculous question asked on this board daily. Nebraska may not have a good record this year. They may have been down for 20 years now. They may not be located in a coastal city... That has nothing to do with what school is the better job NOTHING

Nebraska is better than UCF as a landing spot for coaches in every aspect other than location, and even that is up for debate and is a matter of opinion. Please just stop with even asking the question is Nebraska a better job then UCF! It makes you look unintelligent, and definitely looks like a trolling attemp. I guess job well done, because you got this fish to bite!

Nebraska even though down this year is a top 10 Football school solely on it's history. One down year does not erase that fact, and to think it does is straight up DUMB!

in the post game presser, Scott said it's been the best year of his life. He said he loves it there and won't sell any houses and would 'retire' there. If he changes his mind about the NU job, I'll understand, but most people won't. I'll be disappointed, but then I'm gonna laugh as NU got the biggest troll job ever.
