Everyone is assuming Frost is leaving UCF. The question only seems to be where is he going to end up. Neb, FL, Tenn. What if he stays where he is. In all his pressers I have seen it seems it is more than happy where he is and everything he has available to him. I just saw this morning that a booster donated $5 mill to try and keep Frost there. I don't see him staything there long term. What if he stay for a few more years anddoes like he has said he wants to do there, build UCF into a top program. Is there a chance he doesn't leave or do you all think he is leaving no matter what.

I've been pretty pessimistic lately about whether or not he'll come here but I guarantee he leaves UCF after their conference championship game.

60% stays and rising
20% Florida
20% Nebraska and falling

IMO

I would be more surprised to see him here than at UCF next year. Attendence may suck at UCF, but which of the two is a better job right now? Less travel, lower expectations, and more time to hone your craft as an HC and CEO of a program. He can have his pick of jobs. For all any of the experts, insiders, and guys connected to the cable companies know, he may want a Pac 12 gig over the SEC or Big 10. I was optimisitic a few weeks ago that he would come here but now I would be completely stunned.

I wonder what would happen if Riley were retained for another year, because Frost turned down the (presumably) offer. Oh, man - this place would be bonkers.

these coaches who want to move up need to go when they are at their most marketable ... if UCF has a down year Frost all of a sudden isn't quite as valuable

Matt Campbell has a lot of seniors playing on that ISU team - not sure they are going to be as competitive in future years

Frost shouldn't be our first option.
You contact Chris Peterson, and make him say no to 10 mil a year. Make him say no to that.
Then go from there.

Nebraska is a better job than UCF now, by a TON.

He isnt going to be at UCF next year. He took that job because it was a place he could build a resume. In order to build his resume he needed to be at a place where he could add athletes easily to produce wins to his resume.

He did it probably quicker than what he expected. Now his time line has been moved up. You take a job at a place like UCF not to build it up to a national championship contender because they have been dealt a hand where they never will be allowed to play for one.

It might be a great place, might be a destination job for a certain type of coach. But for what Scott Frost wants to accomplish as a coach it is not the place he wants to stay at, he wants to win at the highest level.

He will be a head coach at a major university next year. Which one? I say 50% at Nebraska 50% anywhere else. Plus whose to say another position will open up that he sees as a better fit than Nebraska or Florida. Who knows.

What more can he accomplish at UCF? He's undefeated, yet still only ranked 18th by the playoff committee. He still can't get more than 30,000 fans to show up.

Frost might not come to Nebraska, but I think he's too competitive to stay somewhere where he can't compete for National Championships and the fans are apathetic.

How would you expect Frost to act? What would you expect him to say? He's still the coach of UCF and is having a great season. He's not going talk about where he plans to be coaching next season.

In order for them to be built into a top program they are going to have to move into one of the power five conferences. For Frost staying may seem like the easy thing to do, the problem is that if you pass up a job that you may want say down the road, then that job might never come open again. If Nebraska is his dream job then he would be wise to take the job now or it may never happen for him again.

If I'm Scott Frost, my brains tell me stay at UCF, my heart tells me go to NU, and my balls say go to UF. He can be rich and adored at UCF. Richer and reviled at UF when he can't beat Bama and UGA.

Then with NU...he either finishes the native son comes home narrative in the best way possible or goes back to hating the fans and feeling betrayed by his home state if he can't win.

If UCF is a better job than Nebraska right now, then UCF is a better job than Florida, Tenn., UCLA, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Florida State and any other top program that is currently struggling. This idea that UCF is a better job because they are currently undefeated and ranked is really absurd. All those programs are better jobs that is why coaches leave group of five jobs for Power Five jobs. I give credit to UCF and what SF has done but he knows they don't have much of a chance of making the playoffs.

Just because we offer doesn't make it a 99% chance he is here.
