Typo-Correction,"Sioux Falls"... sorry, not obvious to me how to fix the title...so editing in the message.
My alma-mater, # 5 ranked Harding University (12-0) earned a 48-31 victory over No. 20 Central Missouri in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs on Saturday in Searcy, Arkansas to earn a second-round playoff game against the number 2 seed, Sioux Falls (South Dakota) (also 12-0).
Harding's victory was the first in only three NCAA playoff games in its history. Harding reached the playoffs in 2012 and 2014, suffering losses in both opportunities.
Harding, the No. 3 seed in Super Region 3, advances to play No. 2 seed Sioux Falls next Saturday in South Dakota.
My older brother was Harding's Art department Chairman for many years and still keeps me up-to-date on Harding Bison happenings. It was awfully COLD Saturday here in Western Nebraska...prompting me to suggest the guys purchase (if they don't already own), some 'pretty heavy jackets', and 'pack-a-lunch' for the battle up north.
I watched Saturday's win by Harding over Central Missouri, and it just seemed to me that neither team had much of a defense, leading to my otherwise random prediction that Harding may not get past this game. Still, it's fun to hear they're enjoying a terrific year.
