I don't understand where people didn't see this coming.
Englehaupt and Stoll (last season's top 2 TE's) are both RS Sophmores.
We signed Allen and Rafdal at TE last recruiting class and already had Jergens and Legrone locked up in this class on Wednesday. The second McGriff signed friday there was zero room for Swinson.
Swinson wanted to wait till january, Mcgriff pulled the trigger and Swinson had no choice but to move on to Missouri. We weren't taking another TE in this class at that point.
Heck even with McGriff's ability to slide outside to WR we still may end up moving someone in the TE room to DE simply because of excess depth.
We now have 7 scholarship TE's that are underclassmen. That's frankly WAY too many. Heck even if Jergens and Legrone both redshirt to space them from Englhaupt and Stoll a bit AND McGriff takes every snap at WR (he won't) it would still be too many.
