Huskers are pushing how close it is to home for him to play in Lincoln. Early PT might be the deciding factor. Really impressed with the D. Dylan is recruiting him hard. Along with Blye Hill and Gbayor. Also loves Ron Brown and they talk a lot. Sounds promising.
I think he flips in the end but it won't be before the Alabama-Georgia game. He wants to attend that game first and I don't blame him.Huskers are pushing how close it is to home for him to play in Lincoln. Early PT might be the deciding factor. Really impressed with the D. We have some studs in that LB room, assuming he stays there and doesn't go right to the edge. You have McCahaee and Shavers along with Rogers, Noonan and more. White will find a place for him.

If I am a stud defensive player this would absolutely be a defense I would want to play in. With that said, if I am that same kid I would want to probably talk to Butler as well and make sure he is going to be running the same defense next year and going forward, or Rhule assuming he wants to stick with the 3-3-5.Talking to Ron Brown? You beat me to it.Likely won't be Whites call by next season.
Yeah, I think if White bounces Butler just slides in. IMO he was brought in to replace TW because they know he will be a hot commodity. If I am a stud defensive player this would absolutely be a defense I would want to play in. I really think that White is going to be a HC next year, and possibly/probably at a power 4 school. It sure seemed like the Butler move was a preemptive move to have a really solid internal replacement for White. If I am the Colorado AD, White would be some one who would be at the top of my list to call after Prime leaves at the end of the season. Other power 4 schools that could be in line for a new coach next year would be:
Florida - This is probably already a done deal.
South Carolina - Beamer has done some good things, but there is only probably 2 more winnable games left on their schdule
Arkansas - The loss last weekend to OK State was a crusher. A bowl is probably a must for Pittman.
Minnesota - I don't really think Fleck is in trouble, so there is some talk about his schtick getting old in the twin cities.
Iowa - Don't know how much longer Kirk has left, and boy would that be a dick punch to have White go there.
Pitt - If Narduzzi has another train wreck season they may move on from him.
UNC - Much like Kirk, Mack is getting really long in the tooth.
Wake - Clawson has been there a long time and probably has some good will built up, but like most other places adapt or die.
Colorado - Prime is more than likely gone of his own accord, and CU just got an up close look at what an ass kicking looks like from a good defense.
WVU - Brown just hasn't been able to turn the corner for WVU, although last year was good year, but no real big wins.
BYU - Sitake has been up and down, but seems like they are trending in the wrong direction.
I think White sticks around until UCLA opens up which could be in a few years. If Foster succeeds there I'd be shocked.
He played there and was a caption 1997-2000.does he have a connection there? that would be the shittiest of shitty jobs
Ron Brown is a stud, always has been always will be. No negatives from any of his former players over 30 yearsTalking to Ron Brown? He is an awesome recruiter of young men.

Is White Mormon? Isn’t that a requirement for BYU?BYU - Sitake has been up and down, but seems like they are trending in the wrong direction.
I actually think White sticks around if Nebraska gets close to winning the B1G this year, or is close to playing in the B1G championship game.I think White sticks around until UCLA opens up which could be in a few years. If Foster succeeds there I'd be shocked.

He might want to stick around to finish what he started.
I feel the same way unless a major power 4 school position that suits him comes calling. He strikes me as someone who will wait for the right opportunity and is in no hurry to leave just to be a head coach. If he proves year after year after year to be a great defensive coach, he will have a top program come calling. And I hope we make that a tough decision. But let's see how the defense does against OSU and USC this year.I actually think White sticks around if Nebraska gets close to winning the B1G this year, or is close to playing in the B1G championship game.

Agreed. Predicting Tony’s future is senseless. Brent Venables stayed as a top DC about twenty years after he was first predicted to take a HC job. Tony may be just as selective. So many on here thought White was gone last year. Don't be so quick to jump on that train again, he loves it here. I do expect him to be a HC in the future, but let's not worry about it right now.
Maybe they will switch jobs.as long as white lets rhule know whats up, so dave aranda knows whats up
I think we'll be just fine without White if Knighton and Dvoracek stick around. Definitely my two favorite coaches on the staff, and what a turnaround we've had with those units.I think White sticks around until UCLA opens up which could be in a few years. If Foster succeeds there I'd be shocked.
Knighton doesn't strike me as HC material. I think he'll be around for a while.I think we'll be just fine without White if Knighton and Dvoracek stick around. Definitely my two favorite coaches on the staff, and what a turnaround we've had with those units.
I'm liking hiring baylor coaches...seems a good deal, alot better then bears complaining bout kevin steeleas long as white lets rhule know whats up, so dave aranda knows whats up
I still think there's a decent chance that Merritt commits to Nebraska before it's all said and done.

I agree!! With one exception … “Scholarships” - lol.Once the Nebraska rebuild is complete by head coach Matt Rhule Nebraska will not have to plead players to come to Nebraska, players will yearn for scholarships to play for Nebraska. jmo
Well it's going to be impossible for Nebraska at this point to guarantee Tony White will be here next year. The end of season firings/hirings haven't started yet so nobody knows. And that's true for all the schools.
So we try and flip a bama commit. But it sucks because are going all out for him ... OkSucks that we are going all out for this guy when Bama will have 25 of them committed this year.
