David Sanders

Here's how big of a deal Sanders is to Tennessee, his name is nowhere to be seen on Tennessee's home page. Tennessee has so many 5 star players I feel Sanders is just another big body for them. Sanders opts for Nebraska, he becomes an instant celebrity and Nebraska rolls out the BIG RED carpet.

The only other 5-star they have is Utu, who we were also the bridesmaid for.

Surprise, surprise. I am so sick and tired of hearing about hyped up recruits who string things out and then pick a different team anyway. Dylan Raiola is an exception to that trend, but even with Dylan turned down NU twice before flipping.
Before you flip a cookie Dylan did the same thing which you mention..Now I know this is a different circumstance and his girl friend may play a factor but winning 9 games would really flip our program in the right direction..

completely different circumstances. The girlfriend factor is huge. Proximity to his home is huge. Neither of those were factors for Raiola.

How you treat people will impact them and others. Stay in touch and be respectful about it. Guys will talk. Yep he will push Tennessee to others but coaches and other players will also see the respectful attitude and way other schools treat him too. 🤞🤞🤞

you just wish him well and stay in touch with him in case something changes. That said, Heupel is a good dude and his girlfriend is unlikely to dump a guy with an NFL future...
Although he selected the Vols, that's still much better than landing at OSU or anyone else from the Big Ten.

On On3, from January through this week of Aug 13, Tennessee had 16 players enter the portal.

The more at bats we get the more we will land

This is a positive trend
There are negatives to the type of offensive attack NU "may have" with Dylan as a point guard/distributor of the ball.

In the spring game, he completed 15? of so passes to more than a dozen receivers. That doesn't resonate with the elite kids who want to go somewhere to catch 80-100 balls a year.

Same thing at RB. Splitting carries among 2-3 guys, each with 10-12 carries does not invite a truly elite RB. Those cats want 20+ carries every game. They want to be THE man.

Conversely, NU plays a ton of kids on defense, especially young kids, and that says opportunity to make the field and not ride the pine.

Elite QB>Elite RB/WR any day.
