...I am working at home with the 1987 Nebraska vs. UCLA game on my TV. (Looks pretty awesome on the Roku YouTube app, BTW, better than I expected for such old footage.)
Watching the Huskers rip through Aikman, Gaston Green, Ken Norton, (and that mouthy ESPN guy Charles Arbuckle) is pretty sweet. When they mentioned it was Jake Young's first start, that of course made me a little sad thinking of him.
So many good players on that team: Steve Taylor, Neil Smith, Broderick Thomas, Rod Smith, John McCormick, LeRoy Etienne ... and many others.
But watching this game I can't help but be reminded about how good was one guy who wasn't named to all the All-America and conference teams: Dana Brinson.
Man, he had speed and moves! Just electric!
