27 recruits and all but 2 are at least 4 stars, with a kicker being one of those < 4 stars. Dang!

There are some people who want to write Saban off anytime he loses more than once. He’s old and the game is passing him by and he’s going to ride off into the sunset, etc. These people haven’t been paying attention. Saban is ubercompetetive and anytime he has a ‘down’ year he just levels up his Super Saiyan mode even further.

And judging by recent trends, a quarter of those guys will hit the transfer portal next season.

First time I read this I saw "Super Sybian".... which sounds fantastic.
Bama doesn't lose alot. The 4 and 5 stars are moving in right behind the guys you are talking about lol
I did a quick search to see how many were actually leaving. there were 18 in 2021. Appears some are grad transfers and injured kids this year, 13 so far with that number fluid. https://247sports.com/college/alaba...e-entered-the-NCAA-transfer-portal-199205351/
Bama had only 7 players drafted last year. If one correlates that to the 27 they recruited this year, it only equates to a 25% success rate for all the 4 and 5 star players they get. Are they really developing their players for the League?
With the portal, Bama will have to run a bit faster to stay in place. They’ll always lose younger kids who know they can be on a depth chart elsewhere. But they will always get the first crack at the high end talent.
