“Name the Nebraska baseball player who became the first in program history to be chosen in the first round of the MLB Draft.”

=================================

Answer:

Steve Stanicek

Stanicek was a two-time All-Big 8 selection and first-team All-American in 1982. He then became a first-round selection (11th overall pick) by the San Francisco Giants and played nine years of pro ball with the Giants, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies. He was also a 16th-round selection by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1979 MLB June Amateur Draft before opting to sign with Nebraska.
