No need for Hurley to be standing at half court clapping at Creighton fans when Creighton called the time out after UConn's big run either.
It wasn’t necessary and a bit uncalled for. But I kind of get why Neil did it. UConn was a bit celebratory after winning their last game in Omaha. And Neil wasn’t getting some calls he probably should have tonight. I also think Neil was kinda giving it back to the UConn fans too.
It’s become a rivalry. Danny Hurley talks 💩 and threatens to beat up Creighton fans. Guy has won the last 2 national championships but is 3-10 vs Creighton and loses his mind about it. The last second dunk was a gesture to him.
Good stuff. Just a couple of teams that are becoming a good rivalry. Hurley is not a normal coach and he’s animated. Personally, I really like what he’s doing building a brand there. Creighton deserved to win, they were the better team last night. I don’t think anything was uncalled for. And nobody got physically hurt. Maybe just some feelings
Followed it up with motioning to his ring finger was reference to Hurly’s actions after the game in Omaha. It was a big FU at Hurley by Neal. Funny that UConn player put his dukes up like a hockey player ready to dance around with Neal. Neal would have bitch slapped him into next week. Also enjoyed McDermott giving Bill Murray’s kid an earful with Bill looking on. Good stuff.

Was nothing wrong with it at all. Uconn and Hurley deserve everything that comes their way. Their best player acted like an ass all game in Omaha. Hurley acts like as ass every game.
Hurley is totally playing a part and he clearly decided that playing the role of the "ass" or the "bad guy" was best for him.
So I say, good for the Jays to sort of toss it back in his face.

The Hurley brothers are trash. Both of them. Either one of them have any class. And Neil would know having played for his brother at Arizona State. I didn’t think the dunk was appropriate, but being that it was against UConn and Hurley, thought it was funny.

Hurley is a guy that clowns others when he is winning. Then when he is losing and someone gives him/his team the clown treatment back, they can’t take it.
Both things are true. The dunk should have gotten people upset, the unwritten code of respecting the game and your opponent. The problem becomes when the opponent doesn’t respect you (head coach at least) and only seems to only respect the game when it suits them.

Would love for another team or its coach to be so bothered by us that they cuss our fans out and threaten to beat our fans up!! Instead we are a team that lays down and takes beatings from a crap teams and we excuse it and say we don’t get supported by the school like we should and so forth.
What you saw last night is a rivalry 💩 gets talked people do things out of character….but as a Husker fan we wouldn’t know what that’s like because everyone beats us.

It’s more how Hurley has handled himself the past year playing them so it’s not been a long time rivalry but after the past two games Hurley will make it a rivalry.
uconn reaction was just a reflection of their coach. a few years ago we had a youngster do that after beating ku. the jayhawks didn't get all offended by it - more like: we deserved it! of course self is generally magnanimous in defeat. therein lies the difference, i guess.
that said, i enjoy watching hurley. he's the male equivalent of kim mulkey. great entertainment especially when getting beat.

I hope both the Mavs and Bluenays do well. I’m 100% Nebraska fan period, but maybe our administration, coaches and donors need to see this and wake the fvck up. One of the biggest sporting events in world is happening and we’re sitting home like a bunch of bitches.
Administration is just delaying the inevitable. Pay Fred his contract buyout, you (admin) created this problem. What’s the big difference if we pay Fred his salary to coach next year, we miss the postseason again, fire Fred and pay him his buyout less one year? It’s basically the same amount of money, but if you fire him now you have a year up on the rebuild.
And we all know this whole roster needs to be rebuilt with ZERO momentum in the program. New coach would and should create some positive momentum, everyone is jacked and hyped up for a new coach/staff. We know they’re gonna get worked in Vegas. Fred won’t be able to get enough quality players in the portal. Donors have no motivation to up the ante for NIL funds, they all know Fred is toast after next season. And if this the path we’re gonna take, I fully expect next year’s squad to be worse than this year’s. Give me one legitimate tangible reason to believe next years team will be better? I can’t think of one reason to believe that other than dumb luck.

From a die hard Nebraska fan, IMO, it’s a rivalry and it’s a fun thing to watch. I’m not a hater and what Creighton has built is good for Nebraska overall. And I love the pressure it puts on our administration to get their shit together. You can throw around stats and program history, but from someone who watches as much college basketball as I have time for, it feels like a budding rivalry. JMO
Oh yeah, the morons in Connecticut talk 💩 like crazy it’s hilarious. Even their athletic dept posted a picture of a corn field and a Husky player in it prior to a game couple of years ago. Yet the population of Storrs CT is around 15,000 and they depict Omaha as a corn field 😆

Both do. I’ve been a fan for 30+ years and I’ve heard other Nebraska fans say… “Nebraska is in the middle of country, nobody wants to come here and we don’t have the in state talent to be good at basketball.” Creighton and UNO’s success puts that shit to rest doesn’t give the NU administration the cover to say “this is as good as we can hope for.” I’ve said for years that total defeatist bullshit, and completely untrue. Schools like ISU, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin can have respectable programs then we can too. Our passion and commitment to basketball (administrators, coaches, donors) is fvcking piss poor at best.
And frankly our fans are to blame too, yes we fill up the vault, but we also take a beating like we deserve it. I want people raging mad about the lack of results we’ve seen from a top revenue sport. We mad when we lose football games, we shrug our shoulders when we lose basketball games.
