I was up in Anchorage at a conference last weekend. Saturday morning we didn't have anything to do so I got up and went running on the trail system by 7:00am (no snow yet). On my way from the hotel I saw some cop cars and an area taped off.
Now, being from here I knew about the 4 murders that had taken place on these trails, including one pair at 7:30am-ish in July. Still I went, although I kept a little closer eye on people as they went by. Started at Ship Creek trail, then Coast trail, then through Valley of the Moon and back to the hotel.
Got back to the hotel and started hearing about a guy that ambushed a cop. Well, turns out it wasn't. So, after reading THIS, I'm thinking maybe he's on his way early in the morning to set up and ambush someone on the trails. I really didn't see that many people that morning, and there were long areas where it was just me.
