Io_a finished 2nd 50 points behind NU (that's a lot in outdoor t&f). Women's team finished 2nd behind Minnesota.
Great job to both men’s and women’s teams.
Pretty much every other conference in the country had their track and field championships on tv this weekend (ESPN +). Didn’t see the Big Ten anywhere.I feel bad for them. If not for social media no one would even know they won. It is crazy how certain sports get sooooo much love and others get next to nothing.
I watched it on B10+, our high jump champ is a stud, 7'6" top in the nation. I watched it delayed so I didn't spend all day watching it but lots of interesting competitions.Pretty much every other conference in the country had their track and field championships on tv this weekend (ESPN +). Didn’t see the Big Ten anywhere.
They work more than 4Being a D1 track coach has got to be the gig of all gigs, right?
Like, there is zero pressure, no one cares, you get 6 figures, you work like 4 months a year...
LOL —— NOAwesome work Huskers!!
Is the BIG10 a good track & field conference? I honestly have no idea.
Back when the news options were limited to newspapers or your local TV news, sports that NU excelled at like track and gymnastics got much better coverage. Nowadays, it is all about the headlines and getting the clicks. The local newspapers are combined into basically one newspaper and there's a football story every day of the year. Usually two. Not much coverage for anything else. Same goes for all coverage of small college sports.I feel bad for them. If not for social media no one would even know they won. It is crazy how certain sports get sooooo much love and others get next to nothing.
Very true.Back when the news options were limited to newspapers or your local TV news, sports that NU excelled at like track and gymnastics got much better coverage. Nowadays, it is all about the headlines and getting the clicks. The local newspapers are combined into basically one newspaper and there's a football story every day of the year. Usually two. I think that people were more aware of the great stories, individuals & teams that were out there. And if people knew about the similar stories of today, they would get much better coverage and more than enough "clicks".Very true.
Hell, HS sports will get more coverage over the "fringe" college sports.
