Coach Sanders $10,000,000 per Year

January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 $7,500,000
January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 $8,500,000
January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027 $10,000,000
January 1, 2028 through December 31, 2028 $11,500,000
January 1, 2029 through December 31, 2029 $12,000,000
January 1, 2030 through December 2031 $12,500,000 per annum

So Rhule will not make as much as $10mil per year until 2027

Sander's deal
Sanders will earn $10 million in 2025 and 2026,
$11 million in 2027 and 2028,
$12 million in 2029.

Let's see what the records are at the end of 2027.
Okay

So worth it in our case - no proof needed

Not worth it in theirs - heisman, 9 win season and record revenue years in the bank

Makes sense

That is a weak argument. Clearly someone is always "worth" what someone is willing to pay. That doesn't mean it is a good investment or worth the money.

So just because the University of Colorado thinks he deserves it or is worth it, "whether I like it or not" doesn't mean that I have to agree that he is worth it or deserves it. He is still one a single win above .500 at Colorado.

Dude, the revenue he's brought to the school and community alone makes him worth it. That's not even debatable. Even his biggest detractors have acknowledged that. You seem to have a little too much tunnel vision with the win/loss factor being the only thing that matters.

He may have helped the program get closer to break even, but without the infusion of allocated revenue from the university, the Colorado athletic program loses money. So it is debatable, their program is still losing money and now it will lose even more money because they are doubling his salary, so you have to hope you continue to increase revenue. They have a tiny 50,000 seat stadium that they are selling out now, their Big 12 deal media deal is set.

Win/ loss matters in the long run because if you don't win, fans of most programs stop showing up, then you are on the hook for the salary.

You may be right, but I've never seen that reported anywhere. Everything I've seen indicates that he's earned it purely from a financial standpoint.

Valid point. And with that cesspool of a fanbase, losses will have them losing interest even quicker than most. That said, my point remains that the win/loss piece isn't the only factor. Hell, in today's landscape, it seems wins and losses often takes a huge backseat to the financial element.

Never once said it was worth it for Rhule, you are the one that always wants to compare Rhule to Sanders, I am assuming it is because you live in Colorado and it is in your news cycle everyday.

January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 $7,500,000

We did kick Colorado's ass on the field last year, as much as a couple of posters in here like to forget it happened. We were a much better team than they were, but their coach used to run fast so Deion's super fans will gloss over that game and their powder puff schedule and continue to take shots at "our" coach. Just a bizarre dynamic.

That was a great game beating CU last year. But fast forward 6 weeks, and CU was greatly improved and NU had regressed significantly. CU finished 9-3 and NU 6-6. We were lucky we got them when we did. But we got them good that day, and that’s what matters.

The final records were the result of the conferences both play in .

Beating Deion is the best day of the Rhule era

Not sure why our most ardent fans constantly try to minimize this feat

Destroying Fickel was fun, winning the Bowl game was fun. What was your favorite win of CU's magical season?
Beating Wisconsin’s and Boston College’s backups was fun

Both pale in comparison to our W over CU

It’s very strange for such a “big Husker fan” to constantly want to diminish and discredit by far the best win of our coach’s tenure

Backups, whatever makes you feel better. Locke started the last 9 games for Wisconsn and James was made the starting QB for BC against SMU when Castellanos was benched.

Just sharing some games I enjoyed. What was your favorite Buff win?

How many of Wisc’s & BC’s best players played?

Zero? One?

I enjoyed them, too.

But neither hold a candle to our win over CU. Obviously.

Your desperate, repeated attempts to downplay a huge moment for our team and coach is very odd.

So revenue matters now? I thought you/fans don’t see any of that money and wins are the only things that matter? 😉

And I 100% agree Colorado had to give Deion a raise/extension. He made them a lot more money and he got them better. Not great, not even good really, but better. And coupled with the money that’s enough. At some point the fans will either get tired of losing and stop paying money and/or attention, or Deion will actually make them good for real (not fake good) and jump ship to a better job. Fake good was good enough for year 2. It won’t be good enough in years 4 and 5.

That's a fair take.
